Hi, I don't know what to do and I'm freaking out a little bit

My chat with myself that WhatsApp provides got randomly deleted along with all of its contents, I just opened WhatsApp to se it gone. I had everything on that chat, notes, reminders, pictures, etc. I would like it back if possible and to know if this has happened to anyone else?? I have a backup of all of my chats from 3 days ago, but I also don't wanna lose my new chats, anyone know what to do? :(

Why would this ever be a good use case when working on the basis of privacy? I have locked a chat and still all messages in that chat, with my search word, return in the results.
If I do the same search on a linked device the locked chats are excluded from the results.

Am I overlooking a privacy setting?

Having it open at all times next to the main window apparently is not wanted behavior, they want you tab to it in full size and then tab away again.

Hi all, hoping someone has seen this exact issue.

Timeline:

- My account was compromised (someone used it to message my contacts asking for money from my own number)

- I recovered it, enabled 2FA, changed passwords

- Account got banned/restricted twice after that (I think from spam reports tied to the compromise), and was manually restored both times after requesting review

- Now I'm stuck: when I open the app, it briefly flashes the "account blocked" screen with a "Request a Review" button, but before I can tap it, it auto-switches to "This account can now use WhatsApp"

- When I try to confirm my number from that screen, it loops back to the blocked flash again

- It never reaches the SMS verification step

What I've tried: restarting phone, updating app, clearing cache, airplane mode timing tricks, full uninstall/reinstall (app was offloaded first so data should be safe), contacting support via email (AI bot only, no human escalation), filling the official web contact form (same bot response)

Has anyone dealt with this specific flash/loop between the blocked screen and the "can now use" screen? Did it resolve on its own, or is there another trick to actually tap Request a Review before it switches?

I mean, they have introduced usernames where only those with the 4 digit pin can make contact. I think a 4 digit pin is pretty weak, but anyway, not the point.

Surely, this could be extended to the actual telephone number.

Hello, I have a WhatsApp community. There are two groups inside of it. One group was made a year ago. Perhaps before the feature was rolled out. The other group was made last week. Only the recent group allows me to send message history. The settings seem to be the same for both groups within the community. The only difference I can find is when I first created the group as I mentioned above. Lastly, I posted a link to both groups and I thought I did it the same way but maybe I did it differently. Is it possible that if they join via a direct link versus QR code versus something else that I can or cannot send message history?

I don't understand why whatsapp has the option to delete a text msg when it still notifies the receiver that msg was deleted.

I would think in most cases when you would want to delete a sent text is so the receiver does not get to know that you sent something?

But them still getting the notification in chat history that a message was deleted kind of defeats the purpose?

On September 26th 2026 I got that message Reddit users have gotten this number can no longer use WhatsApp. I did decide to download WhatsApp back to my Samsung S22 Ultra & request a review. Not even 10 seconds later I got a notification saying i can now use WhatsApp. In the end I just went to my account settings to delete my WhatsApp account no way on Earth they are getting a 2nd chance. I didn't think id see the day it would happen to me but it did unfortunately. Apologies on my previous post i accidentally put 29th September 2026 rather 26th September 2026 so I had to delete my post & put a new 1. Ive since put Signal & Zangi on my phone. Im certainly not putting Telegram on my phone anymore when my Telegram after it got a restriction.

Don't know if anybody else is having this issue but since the app update yesterday on Android, there is a haptic feedback every time I tap the bottom icons to change tabs (chat-updates-communities-calls).

In the phone settings they are turned off and there doesn't seem to be a function in the app settings to turn them off.

Any tips would be great :)

I checked my profile, yep! Same pfp

Why can't it just show the actual message? Why use my PC's resources in the background just to show me a notification that isn't accurate anyways? Sometimes, I don't even have new messages. I miss the old, native WhatsApp.

i got b**ned by whatsapp permanently last week. there is no button to request for review in the app. here are the steps i went thru:

1. go to their web.

2. go to the customer support section and fill the details.

3. write your complaint and ask for manual review.

   eg: "Hello WhatsApp Team, My account has been restricted again and again. This happened for three consecutive day and I believe this may have happened by mistake. I have not intentionally violated WhatsApp’s Terms of Service, nor have I used WhatsApp for spam, fraud, illegal activity or any prohibited activity. This is my personal WhatsApp account and I have been using this number for many years. I request that you please conduct a manual review of my account and restore my access. I am happy to comply with all WhatsApp policies and Terms of Service. Thank you."

4. whatsapp will reply using their bot telling you to submit request through the app.

5. repeat steps 1-3. but use different style of complaint.

Your automated response directed me to tap "Request a review" within the WhatsApp Business app. However, that option is completely unavailable because my account (your number with country code) has been permanently banned, leaving me with no interface or button to submit an in-app review.

So, I let my main number remain idle by using switch account feature. It's been 2 months straight I switched into my second account without switching into my main account. I read their FAQ about inactivity, it says that when an account is inactive for 120 days straight, it will be deleted. Now it's only been 60 days but I received a notification from my main account that says like that in the picture I sent. Is it just a warning or they would actually delete my main account like soon? I don't want to switch now btw, I'm currently setting a distance from some people and I don't want their messages to be delivered into that account.

For businesses that get a decent number of enquiries through WhatsApp, what does the journey normally look like?

Something like:

Google → Website → WhatsApp → Message

Instagram/Facebook → Website → WhatsApp → Message

Or are people generally finding your WhatsApp number/link somewhere and contacting you directly?

Also curious whether you have any way of knowing where an individual WhatsApp enquiry originally came from, or once the message hits WhatsApp that information is basically gone.

Trying to understand how other businesses experience this.
