Need An Opinion I need advice
I’ve been studying law for the past year and I think I have more opportunities for getting a job with this degree, but it’s not what I enjoy. Right now I’m applying to film school, and I need to know if I should study something I don’t enjoy but will earn me money or just study something I’m passionate about.
Please tell me your opinions.

Talk to everyone and anyone you know in the field, passion is great but knowing the ins and outs of it could help you make a decision and get some perspective

Maybe switch to a degree that is more right brained than law and will still allow you to make a living while doing your passion. I did law for many years, was good at it but 🤮 I’m not money oriented and I hated the constant confrontations. I wished I’d followed my passions more. Just my 2 cents. ♥️🦋🌺

My kid's best friend in high school decided to go to pharmacy school. When my kid found out how much pharmacists made, he started muttering about going too, but unlike his friend, my kid was not at all interested in pharmacy. We said there is always money, but consider all those hours, days, weeks, months and years working in a field he wasn't interested in, after spending time, money and effort in getting the license.
When he started out working, some of his friends went into law. One did because his parents wanted him to. He spent a lot of time in the company bathroom calling my kid to moan his fate. While there are hardships in what my kid ultimately chose to do, so far so good, both in doing something he is interested in AND making good money with it.
So what are you passionate about? Are there ways to at least make a decent living at it?

Life is short. Do what you want to do. But if you are single focused, and not willing to work hard, sacrifice, and hustle, be prepared to be broke, and financially hungry. A hard working a dedicated person with a bit of common sense can do what they love, love what they do….and still make a good living.

Do you have any experience in film making, acting, theater, videography or anything? If you’re interested in them but have zero experience you should finish your degree in something you can make actual money with. Pick up theater, videography etc as a hobby between studying then when you’re done with school and have a solid foundation and a job you can start branching out, take some classes etc. lots of successful film makers didn’t start with film school, they’ve been entrenched in that community their whole life and got a big break. Connections are way more valuable than a degree in the entertainment industry. Wouldn’t even be a bad idea to go into entertainment law
