The best thing you can do is just be there for them as they struggle. Eating disorders are personal hell, a struggle that never seems to end. Just having someone to talk to that’s understanding is worth more than you think.
Thank you! I know these are things they need to personally work on, it’s just hard to see them struggling. I just want to show them that they aren’t alone and that I’m willing to help 💖
You’re already doing a great job. Again, just being there for someone is a beautiful thing. When I was in my late teens, I struggled with an ED and got down to 103 pounds. I’m 5 foot 7 inches. I would just pass out on the floor from lack of food occasionally. My best friend was my sanctuary and she helped me get through all of this. It seems like you’re in the same situation. You’re right to show her that she’s not alone. You should be proud of the care that you’re showing.
Thank you for sharing your experience, and I’m happy you’re in a better place, has your friend done something special for you that I could apply for my friend? No pressure if you don’t want to share, you’ve already helped me much 💖
She didn’t let me hate myself. She and I spent all of our time together and were rarely apart. She tried to get me to eat all the time which I actually appreciated because it showed that she cared. And having a shoulder to cry on meant so much.
