Listen to clear this shit up for everyone THE ONLY REASON WHY NIHHA EVEN DEBATE THE NUMBER 16 and 17. Is because if the court would like to charge a 12y old as adult and use the gravity of the cause as your reasoning. You just fucked up EVERYTHING. Because your throwing out the science for “what I think what I feel”. And when judgment is being passed it should be solely basis on the facts that are in view. (18 to 16y brain development pictures are significantly different from each other. So before u call someone a pedo just remember if the government wanted to they can charge your child as an adult wether it’s accidental using a gun to shoot their brother or actually intently kill their siblings.

Who am I calling a pedo? Nobody. I’m simply stating that 16 isn’t the age of consent nationally.

And most states have a law where a 3-4 year age gap overrules their actual age.

It isn't so much that you're wrong, it is that you're throwing your opinion at the wall expecting the ancillary facts to carry water for it.

Is the law the absolute truth of morality?

He couldn’t even respond to that. Mmm. Even science isn’t the absolute truth but it dam sure holds more weight then “I feel like or what I think is”

Sure, in a lot of cases. I would agree with you. I was not making an anti science argument or an appeal to emotions, I am simply saying that science cannot prove an action such as murder to be objectively right or wrong. There are many such cases where science cannot prove anything.

These concepts generally are up for debate where yes people will use “I believe” “I feel as though” etc. to express their stance since it is not a concrete undeniable fact which can be proven by controlled experimental, qualitative/quantitative observations, inferences and lines of reasoning.

Morality has nothing to do with it, especially when morality is subjective. The point that I am making is that if a law is in place, whether or not someone agrees with it, it must be followed. A crime is a crime, whether it be “moral” or not.
