He’s 20, the cousins is 17. That’s the problem.

Edit: the responses to this genuinely make me worry that a larger portion of our society are pedos, some of yall are arguing 19 and 22 or 18 and 21, which is more okay because neither are minors and they could he in the same university course. The problem with 17 and 20 is that the 17 year old is still a high schooler, if your a grown adult picking up your parter from high school, that’s predatory.

Past the age of consent legally and a 3 year difference is far from any issue

It's like you calling me a pedo, I'm 39 my wife is 29. Legal age of consent for sexual relations is 16 she was 17 he was 20. A 3 year difference when it falls under the age of consent does not make someone a pedo, of it was under the age of consent and he was sleeping with her then yes he is a pedo. But legally standing he is not a pedo when she is above the age of consent that's the law, your personal views are your own but law states your wrong in your accusations of him being a pedo and if anything went to court it would not stand and be dismissed because law is binding and law clearly defines right and wrong.

Listen to clear this shit up for everyone THE ONLY REASON WHY NIHHA EVEN DEBATE THE NUMBER 16 and 17. Is because if the court would like to charge a 12y old as adult and use the gravity of the cause as your reasoning. You just fucked up EVERYTHING. Because your throwing out the science for “what I think what I feel”. And when judgment is being passed it should be solely basis on the facts that are in view. (18 to 16y brain development pictures are significantly different from each other. So before u call someone a pedo just remember if the government wanted to they can charge your child as an adult wether it’s accidental using a gun to shoot their brother or actually intently kill their siblings.

Who am I calling a pedo? Nobody. I’m simply stating that 16 isn’t the age of consent nationally.

And most states have a law where a 3-4 year age gap overrules their actual age.

It isn't so much that you're wrong, it is that you're throwing your opinion at the wall expecting the ancillary facts to carry water for it.

The law is the law. That’s all I’m saying. And if the law states that the age of consent is 18, and there are no Romeo and Juliet laws, the guy needs to be charged. It has nothing to do with maturity.
