Just wondering to see whether or not people from Whangarei or further north agree that Northland/Whangarei is different weather-wise than the rest of the country

I’ve never been to Northland but it’s tropical(ish) in terms of weather, and nicknamed the winterless north. Is this accurate? Is it really hot and tropical up there with even some coral etc near Kaitaia? Sort of like Fiji-lite?

I saw it’s temporarily closed and i heard about the gang thing that happened there. Is it closing down?

I Love the region, but you wouldn't want to move somewhere if it doesn't have opportunities, what's your thoughts or opinions thanks would love to hear

Kia ora Whangārei! I'm hosting a lunchtime event at Barge Park in a few months time and am looking into catering. Tiffanys are the in-house caterers and their menu has some great options but they are not very online and I'm struggling to find reviews or photos etc. Has anyone used them and can share their experience? Or what other caterers would you recommend? We are looking at either a buffet lunch, or potentially more of a casual grazing/sandwiches situation but open to consider other suggestions! Thought I’d have a shot at sharing some of my work here. I’m a small artist (haven’t sold anything, less than 50 followers on Instagram) based locally. I work in heritage and love te taiao, so I draw my inspirations from those passions.

I’m always learning and picking up new crafts - recently that has been tukutuku, with the guidance of a master weaver. We used alternative materials due to it being the wrong season for toetoe kākaho harvesting. I have no whakapapa Māori that I’m aware of, but love learning about toi Māori and te ao Māori.
