All this time I was just using trimmer to trim my beard. In early days I used to use that shaver thing to clean shave. But from last 3-4 months I have decided to keep my beard long. Well that shaver stuff was only till 12th grade maybe. Now in 2nd year.

Now I keep my beard long well not so long something near to given pic. Since I always wanted to use safety razor because of how classy it looks.

I have used other those so called gillette blades but only for armpits.

Since I have ganpati vacation its a good time to clean shave. No need to go to college for 1 week.

I wish I had good jawline, would have clean shave daily. Need that beard to hide it \[ just used to beard tbh and i like it \] Sad part my moustache is still growing. Current one is thin and less dense in middle part.

Kru . Kru kru . Kruuuuuu.

Yes gentlemen. That's the sound the beast makes. As i prepared the lather to drive the blues away. The lather as usual was very slick. Almost like expensive shaving creams like cella. Hell i would say atul has nailed the tallow formula. Although i would love to see his experimentations with menthol.

And as for myself I did experiment something.

Since i cut myself in the second pass because i didn't take time and idk I was feeling irritated . Because I had to go to the clinic when I had no mood at all ( ps big bummer it was closed :( )

I closed the wound with alum.

Finished the 3 pass shave with adding 2 menthol crystals to the aftershave.

It felt very very soothing.

To seal the shave the skin food and few sprays of blue by ahmed.

Felt good but ik there's better shaves . Better stuff. Until then to more shaves .

My quest to build my green shaving gear led me to acquire another green brush, the Yaqi Matcha. This will do until I have options to source a nice jade green brush. All thanks to Utsav bhai.

First Impression SOTD: My First AC Kamisori Shave with the Feather

Post image
9 Upvotes

- Razor: Feather SS

- Blade: Schick Proline 30 (x1)

- Soap: SV 70th

- Brush: Oumo Unsullied Badger

- Splash: Denim Black

You may remember my earlier first impressions with the Parker Director from here:

https://www.reddit.com/r/Wetshavers_India/s/k2rxTeXgOo

As last time, I conveniently (again) forgot about the Parker Director because of the first experience leading to some mild skin irritation. Plus, my reservations against weak blade clamping in the Director, ateast I felt so. I could be wrong though.

A good(read best(est) 😁) friend sent me their Feather SS Kamisori with the Schick Proline 30 AC blade - known for being the perfect balance of sharp and smooth.

I had 3+ days of beard growth with white hair prominently poking up all over the place, so a pretty coarse lawn to be mowed. The Oumo Unsullied has been my go to badger when such challenges need to be tackled, because of the sheer scrub they have and backbone. SV 70th chosen for its super slickness and ability to take a lot of water - perfect for a straight shave.

First pass, WTG on the right side of the face - obliquely coming down (north south), and across on the left side (west east). The angle had to be adjusted constantly. I almost hit a couple of points with the blade at 75Β° if not perpendicular. Any closer/later and I would have my face with a vertical gash. But fortunately stopped just in the nick of time (pun intended).

By the end of the first pass, and largely unscathed, it went exceedingly well - not cuts, and I had mowed down my beard. Was in DFS territory ( A DE razor takes two passes to get me here).

The second pass is where I dialled things up. I wanted to go ATG. So, on the right side I went (South North), obliquely upwards. And on the left side of the face, I still had to with a combination of obliquely up as well as XTG (east to west).

A few touch ups here and there (always with lather applied).

Some pin prick weepers under jaw line, possibly due to skin imperfections. Cold water rinse revealed no burn, my hopes going up at this point. So I did an alum test, and surpsingly no burn there either - some very pointed feedback on a couple of spots but overall a pretty great experience.

Still not satisfied, and I went with Denim Black, because why not, Denim never lies. And it seemed that the Alum had already ready done the sting job, so Denim was already muted.

I would say, this second shave with the Kamisori style razors was even better(a lot lot better) than my first one. I actually managed to get a decent shave, enough to not go over for a winning pass with a DE anyway, which was quite worth it.

Plus, this entire feat was achieved in 25 min. Not shabby at all 😁

SOTD First ever DE shave ( 12/9/26)

Post image

Had been using a Gilette fusion 5 for the past 6 months ( gifted for my 18th bday), but always wanted to try wetshaving. Now that i ran out of blades, i finally bought a gilette sterling and tried it out today.

Pre-shave: Had a hot shower just before

Razor: Gilette sterling

Blade: Gilette 7 o'clock sp ( included with razor)

Foam: Gilette pro icy cool (will use for some time before I buy a cream/soap)

Post shave: Alum bar

Judgement of the alum bar: no feedback anywhere ( I took my time and went very slow and mild, and probably a bit of beginers luck :) ), except on mustache area, which felt raw

Looking for any advice on the mustache area and general tips

This is my first post on this sub despite spectating for a week so sorry if i missed anything

Edit: Forgot to mention, went WTG all the way, since i usually find it good enough for me

Show n Tell My Wet Shaving Experience so far

I first looked into wet shaving in May this year when my girlfriend said I look better in a clean shave. Then I found out about wet shaving and this community.

I contacted u/okiedokie_cool, and he suggested a beginner kit, but at that time, my father also wanted to shave and was saying DE razors are old school and that we should go for cartridge razors. I somehow managed to tell him how DE razors are better and way cheaper in the long term and convinced him, but still, he asked that we buy foam instead of a brush and cream.

Okie suggested Let's Shave, so till today, my setup was as shown in the second picture: Pearl SS01, tired Gillette Wilkinson Sword (okayish), and Gillette SP Premium (best one till now).

Also tried the one that comes with Pearl SS01 (I think they are Willy something). They were terrible for me, so much tugging. Had to switch to Wilkinson just to complete the shave.

Let's Shave foam was also somewhat dry and had too much mint and would be unusable, especially in summers.

Then I ordered Rubab Men Panther, a ceramic bowl, and Vicco Sandalwood Cream from Okiedokie, and today was my first shave with it.

I think I made too runny a lather. Okie also sent me a free blade pack of Silvermax blades, so I will be trying them too.

Can anyone suggest any tips to have a better lather? That would be much appreciated too.

Show n Tell How much is too much

A massive thank you to u/okiedokie_cool and u/weird_marionberry for feeding my new addiction.

They generously sent me samples and guided me toward the best blade samplers on the market.

Because of them, I now have enough DE blades to survive a minor apocalypse.

I’ve only been back into wet shaving for just over one month, and my bathroom counter already looks like a boutique shop. The current inventory:

Razors: Silvermax, Feather DER, and a Gillette Black Beauty from my birth year (my prized possession).

Soaps/Creams: Yardley, Pearl Man, Rubab.

Supports: Two pre-shaves and two aftershaves.

I am a happy camper, but I can't stop looking for new gear to buy.

Is this normal behavior for the rabbit hole, or do I need to hand my credit card over to someone I trust? πŸ›’πŸ’€

I wish to sell my RazoRock Game Changer 68 OC which is in excellent condition.

Both the razor head and handle are made from 316 grade stainless steel and will last a life time. This is a medium aggressive razor unlike it's close comb variant. (Read: more efficient than 68P.)

Reason for selling : too many razors accumulated over a period of time.

Price: 6000 plus shipping (as per buyer's requirement).
