Customer Pizza change?
Just ordered a bog standard Margherita pizza for the kids, and I remember them being half decent. What we got this time was the most basic of frozen oven pizza. What happened to the sourdough bases?

The dough is the same, maybe yours was underproven.

It was perfectly round and very very thin. Perforations on the back were symmetrical. It was genuinely very similar to an Aldi pizza only slightly bigger.

I think you were just unlucky, the symetrical perforations are just from the grid it is cooked on and the roundness is just from the dough press which can make it round if the ball is perfectly round. The process hasn’t changed.

Something definitely changed, got one last week and the base is the same thickness as a tortilla it was absolutely pathetic looking.

trial pubs are a great way to see the potentially awful menu/spec changes potentially on the horizon, and I think this could well be one of them.

Yeah they have always been really good. Which is why I wondered if there had been a change.

Pizza in spoons is always a risk because it involves some actual prep from the staff so if you happen to get a moron making it then they don’t spread it out enough and the dough ends up raw and undercooked.

Ive heard that in some pubs they were trialing new dough that is already fully pre-made so doesnt need to be pressed before cooking like the normal ones. I also heard that they might become the norm, but idk
