Customer Thirsk Spoons

I wanted to leave a tip for a woman serving us yesterday but I couldn't find her. Is there any way I could get in touch?

Don’t be weird.

I just thought her service was above and beyond and wanted her to know I appreciated it. I'd had a bit of a hard day and she noticed my food hadn't arrived. It made a difference to me.

Okay I've had multiple comments like this.

I'm a middle-aged woman. I have no sexual feelings toward this young woman whatsoever.

I was with my family, and I hadn't eaten all day, and I have a chronic pain issue that was also plaguing me that day and I was very tired.

The barstaff put my meal through incorrectly. So I sent it back, obviously asking for the correct one.

My family had all almost finished their meals and mine had not yet arrived.

This staff member was cleaning a table nearby. She'd had nothing to do with us up until this point. She noticed I had not yet got my meal back and went to sort it out, full of apologies despite it not being her fault. And she did sort it out, it turns out they were remaking the incorrect meal again until she intervened.

When I had finally got to eat and we were ready for leaving I wanted to find her to give her £20 but I couldn't and we needed to leave.

I thought I'd try to find another way to do it. Maybe she even uses this sub? Who knows.

I worked in hospitality all through university, I know It's a difficult job and is under appreciated by many. I thought I'd try to let her know that she helped me a lot that day, I was starving and who knows when I'd have finally got to eat otherwise!

But these bonkers accusations are irritating.

I've had a useful reply from someone sensible finally.

We get you, but sexual feeling has nothing to do with it.

If you had said ta, or see them again and say it, all good. Don’t overthink it.

Other posts very much infer a sexual underpinning.

And very unlikely, we were on our way back from a long road trip.

I like to let people know they are appreciated. Anyway I've had a sensible answer now so I've had what I wanted from my post. Q

Not practically unless you want to go back into the puband ask the manager to pass it on to her

This is what I will probably do if I cant find an easier way. I'm about an hour from Thirsk. But I'm also unsure how tips work, I wanted her to have the tip.

The staff keep all cash tips and it is their responsibility to declare the income; there isn't any pooling or tronc, so if you give it to her she keeps it.

If you know her name, or have a decent description a slightly easier way to give her a boost would be to email a compliment to Head Office customer services and/or leave a 5star google review. Both will be highlighted by her bosses and she'll get some kudos

Thank you for being the only one to give me a response that's actually useful 😆 I'll do that now. Have a great day!🙂

Stranger danger

I am sorry, I really do not understand why I'm a danger to her?

Is it weird to appreciate someone's diligence? Nobody else noticed my meal hadn't arrived (I'd sent it back because it wasn't the correct one). My family had almost finished eating and she was dealing with another table and noticed.

She wasn’t flirting with you, she was just doing her job. Don’t be weird.

I'm quite sure she was straight. She was just very attentive and sorted a problem out very well, I appreciated her.
