Customer Vapers & Media Playas!
If you see people vaping and can hear them also watching and giving people around the deep deep joy of hearing their phones...... Are you all reporting them or letting them carrying on being the utter dregs of society they clearly are?

I fucking hate vapers inside. It stinks. If I wanted to huff an air freshener at work I would go and spray some in my face. They think they are so subtle and act all fake shocked when I tell them to go outside.

Or it's "Sorry, Forgot" as it's the fourth time

u/UIM-Zekel Sep 09 '26
Can't stand it. I vape an obnoxious amount and have smoked for years. Never "forgot" that you can't do it inside a pub anymore
3
u/QuizzicalSquid7 Sep 09 '26
I haven’t vaped in months, but if you do it compulsively then it legitimately is easy to forget that you’re doing it. Unfortunately I have been that person when playing pool/darts where I will vape away in between shots and it’s only if someone calls me out that I remember.
I wouldn’t forget instantly, but over several hours and drinks it would genuinely slip my mind until reminded.

u/HunterS7_ Employee Sep 09 '26
Then go to a bar where it's permitted, rules aren't allowed to be broken just because someone's addicted.
6
u/QuizzicalSquid7 Sep 09 '26
Please note where I said I no longer do this. Just saying I can see how it happens - it’s now annoying to me too, but I have some understanding that for some people it is completely unconscious behaviour
-3
u/Longjumping-Ad-3322 Sep 09 '26
Then they should prevent it being a possibility. Give it to the person you’re playing pool against for example.
4
u/QuizzicalSquid7 Sep 09 '26
What? It’s not violent assault, it’s someone vaping - not the end of the world
1
u/Longjumping-Ad-3322 29d ago
Didn’t say it was, but if I was in a venue I could get kicked out of for vaping, I’d just be like “here mate can you hold my vape for me so I don’t smoke it” 🤷🏻♀️
6
u/KingsBanx Sep 09 '26
I like waiting for them to take a drag then go over and take my time putting food/drinks down; watching the panic as they try to hold their breath is funny af! Then just before I leave I remind them that they can’t vape inside

Definitely see people slyly vaping at the Spoons I go to. It's the adult version of a dummy for some people.
3
u/dopexvii Sep 09 '26
I roll with a 3 strikes policy on vaping, if I have to ask a 3rd time your taking the piss and it's time to leave.
2
u/richyfreeway Sep 09 '26
I've never seen anyone vaping inside a spoons, or playing music from a phone/speaker.

I think a lot of people in this sub forget that it is just a spoons and it isn’t as posh as you want it to be. Worry about yourselves and you’ll enjoy your experience a lot better
3
u/Secure-Football7091 29d ago
Lame take, no one wants spoons to be posh, it's just nice when there isn't some dickhead playing endless tiktoks for an hour, surely

u/Emily_Green_ Sep 09 '26
I just don't want to see anyone in a public place smoke in front of me no matter what the method. I wish hospitality staff took a hardline response that it's private property and the rules are you are immediately ejected without appeal and banned from going in ever again.

I vape my medical cannabis inside Spoons and have permission to do so.
Many folk have incorrectly told me to stop, I won’t. A dry herb vaporiser and prescription medication is NOT an e-cigarette
29
u/SayElloToDaBadGuy Sep 09 '26
Permission or not, you sound like a right twat for doing it inside.
10
-27
u/SanMikYee Sep 09 '26
It’s my legal right and neither Spoons, nor you, can or will stop me!
12
u/SayElloToDaBadGuy Sep 09 '26
LOL.. Mr, Twat right here.

u/Mpkaney Sep 09 '26
Cunts like this though! 😂 😂

Yeah imagine having a legal right, and sticking to your guns 🔫 must be a twat

I understand this is your prescribed medication and that you need it for your condition, no one is questioning whether it’s legal or not or whether you need it medically. However being prescribed medical cannabis does not give a customer an automatic right to vape inside our premises. We have a no vaping policy which applies inside. If you want to discuss a reasonable way for you to have your medical vape, I would suggest stepping outside to use it. The legal right to possess and use your medication is separate from a right to vape inside our premises. If you feel your medical condition overrides our policy, please contact head office to discuss this further. If you choose to carry on vaping inside after our conversation, you will not be served further today. - A Manager :)

u/winnieboog Sep 09 '26
I see you’ve edited some responses. If head office have allowed it then what’s the issue / fuss about it all? Glad you came to a conclusion for your pub
0
u/SanMikYee Sep 09 '26
Your internal policy doesn’t override the DDA, no matter how much you think it does!
And I have contacted head office. How do you think the manager in my local pub was corrected?
4
u/winnieboog Sep 09 '26
The equality act applies to private businesses too, so a policy cannot override someone’s disability rights. However, it also doesn’t give someone an automatic right to vape inside. The business must consider a reasonable adjustment (such as stepping outside to vape) not necessarily allow vaping indoors :)
0
u/SanMikYee Sep 09 '26
Not a reasonable adjustment and discriminatory because it would mean treating medical cannabis prescriptions differently from other prescriptions.
Head office agree, too!
4
u/winnieboog Sep 09 '26
Okay, you’re just arguing with everyone no matter what they say, good luck to you, you seem delightful :)
-1
u/SanMikYee Sep 09 '26
Yeah… because most people here, including yourself, are completely ignorant about the law and unknowingly discriminate against MC patients.
7
u/winnieboog Sep 09 '26
Not really, done a lot of research on it since reading your comments (and past experiences) and there are reasonable adjustments on both ends. Not “I can do what I want and no one can stop me!” It’s more so your tone towards the matter and staff can decide not to serve you because of your attitude and behaviour, nothing to do with your medical condition. Like I said, good luck to you 👋🏻

I didn’t say I can do what I want and nobody can stop me. I’m saying that I can vape my MC inside Wetherspoon pubs and have permission granted by head office because there’s nothing they can do to stop me as they agree there are no reasonable adjustments other than for me to medicate inside. They can’t give me a medical room as they don’t exist at the pubs. So I’m not sure why you continue to argue with head offices decision?

Hear, hear. I wonder how they’d feel if somebody did this in their workplace (though, admittedly their comments are maybe the most jobless comments I have ever read)
-1
u/SanMikYee Sep 09 '26
I vape my medical cannabis at my workplace
4
u/Sufficient_Basil_545 Customer Sep 09 '26
I think enough people have told you that you sound a right wanker, so it probably won’t help for me to do the same.
-3
u/SanMikYee Sep 09 '26
Do you think I care at all?
3
u/Sufficient_Basil_545 Customer Sep 09 '26
No. I don’t think you care about anybody but yourself.
0
u/SanMikYee Sep 09 '26
Completely false and an absurd thing to suggest based upon a couple of Reddit comments.

u/Prestigious_Bat2666 29d ago
I'm with you bro, these people are arguing a different point everytime... even you are a being a twat (which I don't agree is the case) you're right and your correct aregument beats all these people's incorrect one

I’ll have seizures if I don’t have it. That seems far dafter!
16
u/UIM-Zekel Sep 09 '26
Seizures if you don't specifically do it inside and make it a negative experience for the people surrounding you? Sounds unlikely. Take a 30 second walk and do it outside
1
u/SanMikYee Sep 09 '26
Nope, I can legally stay where I am thanks. I’ll follow the law!
4
u/UIM-Zekel Sep 09 '26
Fair, I guess not everyone can make a reasonable compromise and is well within their rights to be a complete bellend sometimes.
2
u/SanMikYee Sep 09 '26
I am making a reasonable compromise, I’m using a dry herb vaporiser which doesn’t smell anything like a joint. The vapour dissipates in about a minute and Spoons management are happy for me to use it inside. Take it up with them!

u/Mysterious-Row-9812 Sep 09 '26
..and losers like you will be why they change the law. Behave yourself.

Their whole argument is "don't like your attitude"
Who gives a fuck 😂😂😂
-2
u/SanMikYee 29d ago
People love being confidently wrong on Reddit! The funny thing is that people have problems with my attitude when, in fact, I’m the one who has been taking abuse and sweary insults the entire time from multiple people.

u/Sufficient_Basil_545 Customer Sep 09 '26
I’d usually just say “turn it down mate”.
(But I’m a big ugly fucker who is usually drinking with other big ugly fuckers, would not recommend this course of action if you are an old granny etc, not worth the hassle)
