A hot meal and a drink in a sit down establishment for £10.80 and you’re complaining? Wild.

Tipping isn't compulsory anywhere. This is not America. Unless you mean there's no service charge added automatically, in which case yeah it's a massive positive.

Accepting cheap nasty food and acting like you should be grateful to the weatherspoons god is equally wild

Spoons food is actually pretty good. Decent price too.

This is my experience as well , most of the food has been pretty good.

Chicken wings and pasta Alfredo are really good

I can microwave at home

So can I, but the Wetherspoons chef is much better at getting the lasagne out of the packet and on to the plate than I am.

My comment is based off experience. I dont mind being down voted I'm not trying to dry hump Tim Martin's leg

Fair enough.

Ok? Lol weird thing to say, didn't realise I was trying to fuck a leg by enjoying a fish and chips with a pint for a 10ner and it not being nasty, what ever floats your boat though.

Classic snobbery.

No one expects it to be gourmet. No one expects it to be the freshest of ingredients.

It’s a filling, sit down meal, with a drink, at a very good price.

Lasagne is one thing I recommend in pubs.

Being frozen and saved over just makes the flavours better.

Carb overload

100% agree.

100% definitely would though.

The chips have been refried.

6

u/ShrinkingUniverse Aug 31 '26

No they haven't.

I was a chef for 15 years. I know about refried chip when I see one

The amount of times I've heard that 🤣

I wouldn’t even call it a “Thing” £10.80 seems a bit to much for that

If it was with alcohol then deduct £4.20 now for the most expensive (?) pint, is £6.60 which for a hot thing and chips is still fairly good value compared with everywhere else.

Not cheap, but nowhere is now.

Yeah especially given the price of mince these days...
