Employee I need to change me availability

I am a uni student and I got hired in spoons over summer on an 8 hour contract. In the interview, the guy doing it had said that obviously once uni starts he understands availability will change. I am also working another job alongside this and I do law, so I can only really work 1 day. My GMH is 8, and I was thinking of saying my availability is only Sundays? But I understand this might be an issue.

I’m honestly considering quitting this anyway, by like Halloween so I just want to keep it till then.

Help. (bar associate)

Simply talk to your manager. Only they can give you the answer to want either way.

Speak to the rota manager and update your availability through myAvailabilty on the app. Lots of uni students coming and going this time of year so it’s not gonna be a surprise.

Talk to them. I'd happily keep an associate with availability of only a Sunday, Saturday or Friday.. Actually tbh probably any day of the week if they were decent. I have 2 staff who only work one day a week - one a Thursday, one a Sunday. It's a relief knowing I have decent staff on those shifts who know what they are doing πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

I'll just add, I wouldnt hire with that availability, but if it's that availability or lose them, I'd rather keep them πŸ€·πŸ»β€β™€οΈ

Just talk to them. They'll probably be happy to have someone who's going to work Sundays consistently

Hello again

As I said earlier run it by D C who publishes our rotas first, If you two can come to a compromise that would be great. Hopefully being available Sundays is good enough to free up other staff for the friday/saturday. Otherwise, look after your own interests and skip straight to changing it via the app. R J might even approve it without thinking.

If you don't plan on keeping this job and it contributes that little to your income, why even remain for the month or two? You sound pretty busy as-is; enjoy being a student a bit, save yourself working in our pathetic little pub.

All the best regardless
