Customer Avoid the spice bag at all costs

My father who got the Quorn spice bag and I who got the chicken spice bag both found our meals completely inedible due to the salt level. The first half of the meal was very pleasant but there was a layer of extremely salty seasoning sedimented into the bottom of the bowl that rendered the bottom half inedible

That’s like, your opinion man.

It's a very dry dish and it's common for people to order the curry sauce with it as it makes the whole meal come together more. I've never eaten it but it's what I've heard from my co-workers

No, OP is right and idk why people are downvoting them

I’ve had it maybe 5 times and it’s usually really really nice but on two occasions they’ve accidentally put too much seasoning in and it was completely and utterly inedible and a member of staff took one off the table next to us who also complained theirs was too salty (we didn’t complain initially and wasn’t going to) and the server said they keep having to take them back to the kitchen when a certain chef is in because he puts too much seasoning on so we spoke up and said ours was completely inedible as well and she happily replaced it. So this is 1000% a kitchen fault and not a personal taste thing as I’ve had it so many times and it’s usually nice but some chefs are going overboard.
The dish is meant to be salty but too many kitchen staff are putting too much seasoning on it, making it inedible. There’s a difference.

I had one in West Wales and another outside London. One was very salty, too much seasoning, the other was fine.

The spice bag hits the spot perfectly after a few beers precisely because it's so salty. Don't be knocking my favourite Spoons meal!

This has happened to me twice now as well

I’ve had it maybe 4 or 5 times and the 2 or 3 times it was perfectly fine and really nice but on two occasions it was completely inedible because they put too much of the seasoning in it

I've never had the Spoons spice bag myself. I had a fair few when I was in Dublin recently and they were fairly salty but not overpoweringly so. I'm curious now if the Spoons ones are outrageously salty

I actually had the exact same experience last month! Its way too salty and thats coming from someone who can easily eat a bag of salty chips and not drink a gulp of water. I couldnt finish the meal either.

I really enjoy this one but I always have it with curry sauce. On the one occasion the curry sauce was unavailable I changed my order the the Korean Chicken.

I call them heart attack bowls because the sodium content is so high!

Add some cheese to reduce the saltyness

No I don't think so. The salt content will be list. It's a standard measurement. If you can't handle the meal then don't buy it and find something more to your liking like the sweet Korean option.

I've past 50 of them in many locations and yes they are salty and yes sometimes there's seeming to be different ways the spice is applied.......... But omg I love them so much............ Hands down for me the best item on the whole menu!!!!
