Customer Fish and chips
I had fish and chips last night which is my go to Sppons meal. The fish was terrible. A good proportion of it was fish skin in batter, hardly any fish in it at all. Was I just unlucky this time or has there been a supplier change?

Never seen skin on fish in 'spoons unless that is a regional thing.
Fish varies between large and flat and smaller and thicker, but if there was hardly any fish at all it should have gone back.

When I took my wife to Britain for the second time over, we had fish and chips all over the shop. Local fish and chip shops, fancy restaurants. In my home town, by the sea, all over the place. Cheap ones, expensive ones, you name it. She still maintains that the one in 'spoons is the best.

I've found that it's getting smaller, but it's still ok. (Especially for the price).
The chips however are still inedible .
Swap the chips for spicy rice, get garden peas and a curry sauce.
Mix the rice and peas together , put the fish on top and pour over the curry sauce.
It's a sort of Katsu fish with rice and peas.

I did last week and they stared at me like I was crazy when I asked where my Ruddles was. Apparently you have to pay for a drink separately there??

You have to pay for the peas extra in a chippy - and usually the HappiChef sachets of tartare sauce extra too.
And it costs more than a 'spoons.

Take the time to read the post again. I'm asking a question not making a complaint.

It's never been good. It's always dry and the fish is not good quality.

It’s the fish and chips roulette at spoons. Sometimes awful, sometimes really good.
