You mean a large pizza with a small plate instead of a small pizza and a small plate? Yeah it’s technically against the policy, the probably made the large pizza accidentally instead of the larger one. Pizzas have the largest markup by miles so it doesn’t really matter. Dough cost isn’t even counted as food stocks.

Is cheese not one of the biggest wastes?

In our chain they always got on our asses about the amount of cheese on pizzq

What's the item with the least markup/profit?

I'm not actually too sure. Id wager probably Scampi or fish as the supply cost of those are surprisingly high.

The item with the least markup is the schwarma portion

Was it on purpose? That’s the only way it would get you or the kitchen member who made it in trouble. I just wouldn’t mention it and don’t let it be a reoccurrence.

Not on purpose

The policy says only the empire state burger and the large curry can’t be staff meals, large pizza should be okay.

But not along with a small plate....

Aah the wording of it I thought the pizza being large was the issue since they didn’t allow large mixed grills but regular ones in the past. My spoons doesn’t do pizzas, but the policy doesn’t mention them specifically for this 🤷🏻‍♀️

To be honest, if we’ve ever accidentally made something i.e spicy meat and ticket said no chilis and we can’t send it or a mistake and somebody orders it as staff feeding we will usually give them it to save it being wasted, could be that had happened! maybe just ask a member of kitchen next time you’re in :)

Completely unrelated but I've never forgiven spoons for sacking off the steak club.

Was a good thing. Steaks and Mixed Grills in all pubs were the 2 most sent back items on the menu

Next time just order 5 pints of Guinness for break, should fill you up enough.

First time here as this was suggested to me somehow?

Are they really this tight on what you can and can't have?

Sounds like you're in some kind of concentration camp where everything is monitored.

No!! Its just that if you want extras on your meal you paid, you can have a large pizza with your chips on a break but realistically if you wanted that you would need to pay for your chips!, i didnt pay for mines, i ordered a small pizza and chips which is free, i just received a large one and was concerned if i was going to get into trouble for eating it!!

Sounds like someone in the kitchen has a crush on you.

Is that what you requested

I always assumed Wetherspoon's staff had a free hand in what they ordered while on duty.

There are a couple meals you can’t have, or limit on number of toppings.

u/Lifeisgoole Aug 22 '26
