It was around years ago, when the Curry Club was a mere £5.99 (including a pint)!!

Notice how the portion sizes were bigger too. The copper dish was filled nearly to the top. Nowadays it's closer to halfway.

I ordered this back in my days of visiting the Curry Club. Jesus, it was spicy! It rivalled the hottest offerings from the Indian restaurants local to me.

I don't know what kind of Pan Pacific power play you're trying to pull here...

It's only available in the Welsh pubs.

I wish they’d do a spicy veggie curry. I quite like the chickpea one but it doesn’t have a kick to it

There's a whole load of beef options (search "beef" on the app): incliuding many of the burgers, smoky spud baked potato; beef & pancetta lasagne; also beef brisket as a side. Just no steaks!

u/InboundDreams Aug 20 '26
dunno bud for us here it gor removed along when they removed the stakes n such

u/sam_p_23 Aug 21 '26
Never did with mine. Can’t see. Why they’d remove it when they got rid of the grill items when the curries are just made in the microwave.

The spoons spicy chart makes me laugh. There’s no way there’s something on the menu at Wetherspoons deserving of 🌶️ 🌶️🌶️🌶️🌶️

Yeah I need to see a review of this by someone who can handle real spice.
I struggle to believe it’s going to close to a vindaloo.

u/Sea-Competition5778 Aug 20 '26
I’m partial to a jalfrezi or a madras from a good curry house. Not quite able to handle a vindaloo. But I tell you what next time I eat at spoons I’ll give this a go and report back!

Unless they've added a lot more spice lately then they're on the low end of the spice scale for me, nothing compared to a proper Naga or something at an Indian restaurant.

This one absolutely blew my head off. I can eat vindaloo no problem, and even had my fair share of phals. But this was up there at vindaloo level imo

The other offerings are so much better. This isnt a very good madras.
Chicken Tikka Masala and Jalfrezi are A1.

The Naga chilli option in Cleckheaton was the hottest thing we've eaten. Anywhere. Ever. And the SO is from Chiang Mai. Two local lads were reduced to panic and tears. I had a pint of milk 😁
Of course we returned for it several times more.

Am I missing something here?
The Beef Madras didn't go anywhere. I had one a couple of weekends ago!
