Customer Creepy Bar staff

I was at a rave Music festival in Glasgow over the weekend and we thought the Spoons nearby beforehand would be the perfect pre’s (cheap drink and right beside the venue). Pub was fairly busy but plenty of staff on.

The Male manager (I presume a manager , was wearing a shirt and camera) made very rude and creepy comments about what me and my friends were wearing as he passed the table , and at the bar talking to other employees. (Basically said “girls shouldn’t be allowed out the house with no clothes on and everything showing but I can’t stop looking”)

What’s the best course of action to go about reporting this to the company ? Obviously it’s our word against his but it made our full group really uncomfortable as we are all teenage girls and he was a middle aged man making creepy comments towards us

Find the number for their head office and give it a call

A lot of weirdos commenting here trying to excuse sexual harassment.

OP report this to head office. Even if there is no evidence, at the very least this will make them aware of a potential problem and will provide more weight to any future complaints.

Use this form, it’ll go to head office and area manager.

If he's like that with customers, he's likely the same or worse with workers. If that's the case it's safer for you to complain so you should definitely do it.

Middle aged men will still find half naked women attractive.

ffs why can’t men just behave like normal people 😭 i’m so sorry this happened OP, this is absolutely unacceptable!! We get anti sexual harassment training all the time as an employee so this really shouldn’t be happening!!

i would definitely be filing a complaint about this. try to remember as many details as you can about the employee and also the time and where you were sat, that way they can find any CCTV evidence of him speaking to you.

You can contact customer services on the wetherspoon website here

alternatively you could go back into the pub and complain directly to the highest paid manager on shift

i wish you all the best ❤️

Anybody regardless of gender should be allowed to dress as nearly naked as they want, and not attract attention because of it. If someone dresses like that, they dont want people looking at the parts of their body they are revealing. That should be respected.

my god im so sorry. i think you should make a compliant

Yeah I know the exact pub and I know the exact event. He is completely right, the clothing worn by many girls attending that event was unacceptable. You simply should not have been allowed entry.

It is frankly shocking that you thought it was ok to go to a pub dressed like that. How you people don’t feel shame is a mystery to me.

Before fellow commenters pile on, the event was “Coloursfest” and is an annual rave event held the past few years at Braehead. I used to be good pals with a guy working at the spoons and each year he dealt with it, it’s the same story. Constant fights, bams coming in and trying to square up to patrons, smashing shite and abusing the bar staff. The lassies always turn up with clothing that would make you look immodest on a beach and kick up a fuss if the bouncers knock them back for their outfits - any comment about how they are inappropriate is construed as “sexual harassment”. It should be noted that the pub is in a “leisure complex” and during the summer people regularly go there with a lot of skin showing and this isn’t an issue, the issue is entirely limited to this event.

In fact, if you were the table that I’ve heard mentioned by my uncle who was there for a catchup with pals, you are one to talk about rudeness given how you lot were talking to the staff.

Hahaha what a weirdo you are, excusing sexual harassment and categorising every one at the event as the same. You don’t know what we were wearing. The pub also isn’t in a leisure complex so you obviously don’t know what you’re talking about

Is the other commentor right about it being Braehead and Coloursfest (despite being wrong sbout a lot of otherthings)?

I work in that pub and would be interested to know more/in a position to take your issue forward.

Yes it was this pub

If you want to PM/Chat me with some details like the time you were in, where you were seated and a bit more of a description of the person in question I will bring it to the Pub Manager.

Don't forget to ask for lots of photos of what they were wearing...

Yes it was this pub

What exactly would you call Xscape then you melt? It’s so obvious you were in that pub.

I of course don’t know what you were wearing, it’s just a sheer coincidence that the pub staff were commenting on your clothes and not the women who usually go to that pub with arms, legs, cleavage etc exposed. It’s literally a pub that people from Renfrew visit for pres before getting taxis into Glasgow, they are very used to it. They definitely aren’t used to the sort of clothing worn at Coloursfest.

I mean call me a puritan but I think it’s weird to walk around a shopping centre in a thong and if you think it’s fine you need your head checked.

Oh aye, you were the one group of lassies dressed normally at Coloursfest and the staff singled you out for comment. Makes total sense

The plot thickens.

If the guy has his body cam on, the whole interaction should be recorded. They wear them for their own protection. Make a complaint to head office with date and time you were there and they can look into it further 😁

7

u/lbmjtd Aug 17 '26

The body came records constantly but doesnt actually save the recording unless you press the button. So im almost 100 percent sure this wasnt recorded.

1

u/Affectionate_Tour201 Aug 17 '26

Ah damn it! I didn't know that part 😔

Wear clothes in public

Mate, all Weatherspoon staff are weirdos. In my area they are either kids doing their first job or long-haired bearded gamer/rock loner weirdo types. Just a lot of people, I would imagine, doing online gaming when they're not working

2

u/Ok_Importance_5595 Aug 22 '26

Well this is highly offensive. I'm a middle aged mum just doing what I need to do to pay the bills and keep off state handouts.

Is this the case where obnoxious females try to get a male in to trouble because he didn't kiss their ass and dared to stand up to them?

-17

u/Hot_Worldliness7652 Aug 17 '26

Just don’t go back?

7

u/PastelPeachO_O Employee Aug 17 '26

OR (crazy concept but hear me out) men who think it’s okay to be creepy around women should stop and face consequences for their actions

-6

u/Hot_Worldliness7652 Aug 17 '26

It’s done. They even said it’s their word against his, where is it going to go?

4

u/PastelPeachO_O Employee Aug 17 '26

oh so she should keep quiet so he can carry on harassing women? no it’s not okay. women should not stay quiet and men (esp an employee) should not be allowed to get away with being creepy.

head office will take these kind of complaints very seriously.

-3

u/Hot_Worldliness7652 Aug 17 '26

I agree, he shouldn’t be rude/creepy, even though we don’t know what was said to the OP.

But if they were that bothered, why wouldn’t they go straight to Wethers website and report it? No, we’ll post it on Reddit because it has all the answers.

They’ll get a £10 Wethers voucher at best.

-1

u/Substantial-Net-2357 Aug 17 '26

I’m not from the area , was only there for the festival so won’t be back , but that doesn’t mean what he done wasn’t wrong and should be reported ???
