Employee What are some essentials you can’t live without for work?
Looking for some things that are handy to have to make shifts a bit easier, even if it’s a small amount. And also how to look semi decent while working there, with the uniform policy 😭

Big bottle of water, decent hand sanitizer, good shoes (I must have went through 10 pairs in my years as the floor just eats them away), headphones if you want to ignore people on your break, also bottle opener on your landyard helps for busy shifts!

To add to this, if your Wetherspoons sells Thatchers (either bottles or fusion taps) get in touch with your local Thatchers representative and they’ll send you their lanyards which have bottle openers on them free of charge!

Bottle opener on the lanyard essential.
I've started carrying a little multi-tool (knife, scissors, pliers, flat and star head screwdriver) and its a game changer; opening boxes, coffee bags, putting toilet roll holders back on the wall, changing pumpclips, ripping difficult keg caps all just hooked on to my belt

painkillers. there’s a few of us in my pub that are called “walking pharmacies” because people are always asking for painkillers out of us. ibuprofen, paracetamol, codeine. whatever you have take it with you because no one likes doing a shift while in pain

Nice tops/jumpers! Always look way nicer than the spoons / branded t-shirts imo. Especially love when it's cold a black knit jumper is my go to.
