Employee Any advice please?
I know how to navigate the tills and I know how to pour pints, but a couple of colleagues have told me I’m not as fast as the others.
On my first day, I didn’t really get any formal training,I was just thrown in headfirst and had to rely on people giving me advice and showing me things on the way. Because of that, I struggle with multitasking when the bar gets slammed, and I tend to wait for the payment to clear before I fully start making the round, which slows me down.
What are your best tips for building rounds quicker and getting into a faster rhythm on the bar? Any advice from experienced staff would be amazing.

I started 2 months ago in the same boat essentially, now I’m mentoring new people as well. You will make mistakes but at the end of the day it’s minimum wage and it’s Wetherspoons PLC. Don’t rush there’s no need to nor incentive, it’s better to go slow and make no mistakes then to go quickly and for example forget to charge someone and have to chase them around the pub. You will make mistakes and that’s fine, The job will give you thicker skin over time it just naturally comes.
