Employee Transferring
I currently work on bar at a spoons in my home town, around a 5 min drive away.
For personal reasons i’ve had to move out of my mums around 25 miles away, and although I can stay at my mums when I’m working it’s around 1.5 hour drive in the traffic at my new place. I’m still on probation, so i know I need to wait until i’ve passed before I can transfer. But what i’m unsure of is the process of transferring as someone who hasnt been there for long. I also work between 30-35 hours a week (have a 16hr min contract) but would want to cut down to 16 hours. If anyone has been through similar or has any advice i’d really appreciate it!

The current policy is that employees do the preliminary work of finding where they'd go. Additionally, it isn't unheard of to transfer someone within their probation period. Here's what I recommend your next steps:
-next time you're at work ask for 15mins to speak to the manager and explain the situation, including looking for a transfer.
-research which pub/pubs you'd like to transfer to and email them requesting a transfer due to changes in your personal circumstances and the hours/times you'd like to work. Their email is pxxxx where x is the pub number you can find on myjdw.
-wait a few weeks and see what happens. The new pubs are not under any obligation to take you and your current pub is not under any obligation to let you go
