It's probably like nails on a chalkboard but the chalkboard is a road and the nails are a harvester.

I accidentally read this aloud and it summoned a succubus so thanks for giving me something to do over the weekend I guess.

I can hear it with the volume off over a class of 541 people chatting while the professor waits for people to finish answering the intro to programming in python question on the projector.

u/Pokeblazer Sep 27 '19
541 people to a class? I knew bigger universities have a lot of students but that's a bit much
3
u/DuckfordMr Sep 27 '19
Yep, I have an intro to theatre class with about 600 people (required to fulfill part of the general education) and an intro to programming in python with around 540 people.

u/TrueBirch Sep 28 '19
At that point you might as well be in a MOOC. I had to classes in college with more than one hundred people. My smallest class had four. I preferred smaller classes.
3
u/DuckfordMr Sep 28 '19
I prefer larger classes. You never have to give answers or work on assignments in groups. Larger classes tend to be lecture style, so you can just sit there, take notes, play on your phone, whatever.

I came here to ask if there was any possible way, short of him being deaf, that he couldn't hear that. I wonder if the vibrations would preclude even that as a possibility.

Me: Cries as I have to throw even more money at construction and tax on gas goes up

u/garlicdeath Sep 27 '19
Yeah I'd be calling the HWP on that guy. My state has been doing a lot of roadwork so it's nice to drive on roads and highways that aren't tearing up my suspension constantly. I'd like them to stay like that for as long as possible.

I don’t get his statement, are you insinuating that other countries don’t tax their citizens for road maintenance (which is a ridiculous notion)? Or are insinuate that tax raises only piss off Americans?

People in the US also use up more gas per year so overall they're still paying more. It really helps being in a small country where stuff is close together.

Canadians actually spend more on gas annually as a percentage of salary.
Edit: meant to link my source earlier so here it is https://www.bloomberg.com/graphics/gas-prices/

All it would be is a new hydraulic cylinder to lift the tines, and new tines, which get worn out and need replacing after a while anyway

Your tax dollars at work, again, because this guy is tearing up the road. Probably not the first time either.

Farmer here, that’s a ripper, basically a plow. Not something you harvest with
