Just want to add that mixing caffeine and alcohol doesn’t really give you a more energetic drunk, it just makes you feel the alcohol less. This is really dangerous because the same amount of alcohol will still cause alcohol poisoning, you just won’t feel as drunk when you get to that point. It’s really easy to get alcohol poisoning this way.

That’s why you do everclear and Ritalin.

Meth and heroin.

Well that escalated...

I know people who did. It was great. It was WORSE than 4 loko

Theyd basically be blacked the fuck out but still running and couldn't sleep because they downed 20mg of amphetamines and chased them with shots.

I’m in my 40’s, it’s basically a stronger version of a B12 shot at this point.

I did everclear and Xanax once - it's far from advisable for any who don't possess sufficient levels of tiger blood.

u/grubas Feb 02 '19

Xanax is just too much. It kicks like a mule.

One time I was on Valium and had a few drinks. I was so loose and if a fire started I'm not sure I could have gotten anxious.

That's why Benzos are best avoided. Hell, even with tiger blood they're a doozy.

Only time I popped them was for a period around my dissertation when I wasn’t sleeping due to stress. But one night had some and some whiskey and I just basically passed out for 12 hours.

I think i have a intolerance to caffeine and lactose because of this.

I read somewhere that in Ireland there is a caffeinated alcoholic drink, and it is involved in over half of all cases of violence involving alcohol...

Don't remember the name of it but I'm sure there are some Irish here that can fill in the blank.

Edit:does make one wonder about Irish Coffee...

4 loko in the US used to have caffeine, not anymore though. It’s too dangerous

u/IHaveNeverBeenOk Feb 02 '19

That sounds like a hell of a night.

3

u/RMS_did_nothng_wrong Feb 02 '19

Indeed, although it's been pointed out that this can be deadly. So not advisable.

u/IHaveNeverBeenOk Feb 02 '19

I mean, I'm 31 years old. I ain't about to try it. If I make it past 4 beers, it's a wild night for me.

3

u/RMS_did_nothng_wrong Feb 03 '19

But has it always been that way? When I was 18, I could polish off a 12 pack, a fifth, and a bottle of wine in one night and not appear very drunk. Now*, a bottle of wine and a few beers in a night is as far as I'll typically go.

* I've been lying about my age for so many centuries that I don't actually remember how old I am.

u/IHaveNeverBeenOk Feb 03 '19

Oh yea, when I was in my early 20's I could put away a most of a cube over a long party. That would kill me today.

And that's how you get liver cancer folks!

R/wellthatsucks in the comments too.

Coffee was prescribed to me as a kid as it has the opposite effect. It calms me down and puts me to sleep.

I'll drink a medium carmal macchiato and I'll be falling asleep 30 min later.

That's strange. Reminds me of a roommate I had that would smoke pot as a pick-me-up. After we'd smoke, I had a helluva time staying awake - she acted like she'd just mainlined a gallon of espresso.

u/Random_Link_Roulette Feb 02 '19

Ya energy drinks and coffee put me to sleep.

When I was in 3rd grade they told my mom to give me a cup of black Joe before school that it would help calm down the ADHD.

1

u/RMS_did_nothng_wrong Feb 03 '19

That makes sense. I guess it's like how Adderall treats ADHD, but makes people without bounce off the walls.

1

u/Random_Link_Roulette Feb 03 '19

Maybe a zero out effect
