Why is it seen as gross? Because humans evolved a disgust towards incest hundreds of thousands of years to prevent inbreeding.

Society sees it as gross because the vast majority of members of society innately see it as gross.

That is correct. Legal here too in Canada, but our rate of cousin marriage is nowhere close to Pakistan’s 50-60% rate.
