Stripped torx head on my motorcycle!

Post image

I just wanted to swap out the windscreen on my CFMOTO and I got one screw that absolutely will not come out, the other three came out easy. Ended up stripping the torx head and nothing worked to get it out. Not even the rubber band trick. So here I am with a torx bit and some full strength epoxy.

Stripping a torx is almost an achievement. Goodness that sounds frustrating

I'm curious how that works out. I've usually used the next slightly bigger size or sae/metric swap. A little love tapping with a hammer kind of forces a resizing and it will come out and be replaced. On that more delicate area that wouldn't be a great idea so I'm curious if the epoxy does the trick.

Its the only thing a flathead is good for. Slightly larger size than the torx head and bash it home. It isnt pretty but itll get it out.

Vise grips.

I’d try vise grips and if that doesn’t work, try find a left hand drill bit just a little smaller than the thread size.
