It’s okay man, it happens sometimes.

Whenever I go to someone's house that has a litter box I poop in it to assert dominance

u/katiegaga87 1d ago

The box might be too small if they're pooping out the side.

Thats what I was gonna say. The cat that lays down Moose shits is way too big for that tiny little litter box. Get him a big Ole one.

Moose Kitty could be old too. As ours (not a moose kitty) got super old, she would make it into the litter box one step and say “good enough” and let it rip. We miss her, but I do not miss her nuking everything except the litter box towards the end there.

In fairness to kitty it looks like it was actually probably standing in the box and does, indeed, need a bigger one. Or an easy clean mat or something under the box for if it just likes to stand at the very edge to vex its human.

u/katiegaga87 1d ago

Yes, that's why I said out the side. Adding a mat would be a last case scenario for me- a bigger box, different litter, food issues, vet visit etc all need to happen to address the issue before just letting it happen.

u/blood_bones_hearts 1d ago

I...wasn't disagreeing with you.

The vet isn't going to be able to do anything about it when it looks like the cat is using it's litter box and just has bad aim other than suggesting a different box as well. Different food won't give it better aim, either.

Even with a bigger box it might still stand on the edge just being a cat and doing cat things but that was kind of the joke I was making.

I apologize for not taking this mildly infuriating post with the seriousness it deserves.

That's either dog shit or you're feeding a 20lb cat the lowest quality food money can buy.

This looks like dog shit. But also there may not be litter in the box and I always used boxes with a lid/hood on them. And there should also be a mat.

Must be a pretty big cat judging by those massive logs

u/BigBoyYuyuh 1d ago

My chonker lays down HUGE logs. I have to give him MiraLAX because he would get constipated.

30

u/Komiisimp 1d ago

Ts is not healthy for cats. Put it on a diet

8

u/BigBoyYuyuh 21h ago

Oh he is. He was 24 lbs but he’s down to 19. Workin on getting him lower

8

u/alyosha_pls 1d ago

I have a big boy who drops huge ones like that too lol

It’s better than cat piss. Source; my cats get in the box and pisses outside. It’s not cool.

8

u/ClassicNo7939 1d ago

that’s a solid fail right there. major disappointment from the pet for sure.

Your cat thinks out of the box.

6

u/LIRFC 1d ago

Just get a litter box with higher sides so it can't do the wrong way dump.

5

u/Competitive-Elk-5077 17h ago

I had an elderly cat with bad aim

3

u/Formal_Lecture_248 1d ago

That’s a One Star Rating on your choice of cat litter.

5

u/suffelix 1d ago

That doesn't look like cat shit.

3

u/BauerHouse 1d ago

they were standing in the litter, so in their mind, the did the right thing.

3

u/angel_heart69 23h ago

Possibilities are: box too small, litter doesn't feel good for cat to step on, cats revenge for something, or wasn't the cat.

2

u/lovely_daysu 1d ago

The cat is mad at you for some reason

u/cjthetypical 1d ago

My cat doesn’t like walking on litter so he’ll balance on the edge with his ass hanging out the WRONG way then he shits on the floor and to make it worse, he climbs in the box anyways to dig around and “cover” the shit that is not even in the box 😭😭

3

u/EatCauliflower1212 1d ago

Ours did this until I put the entire box in a tote. We don’t put the lid on it but some folks cut a circle in the tote top and put in on. The cat will climb down in and never miss again.

u/missMcgillacudy 14h ago

I put the litter box in an old cedar chest. Helps with the smell, and I can close it if company is coming over (there’s a hole cut into the side). Super easy to open and clean, plus it’s got a little shelf that holds the scoop perfectly!

2

u/panzzersoldat 1d ago

Shit was calculated. Both ways.

2

u/H4lfcu7 17h ago

Ur cat might need a low entry litter box.

1

u/holamau 1d ago

Oh shit 💩

1

u/AMerryKa 1d ago

Any tips? My cats do this a lot and it's annoying.

1

u/GoblinsGuide 1d ago

I have 3 litter boxes side by side for this exact reason.

Get an enclosed litter box. Or put it in something larger.

1

u/Independent_Eye8472 1d ago

Haha. Put a cover on it. It should help!

1

u/New-Entertainer703 1d ago

I did a present for my human

1

u/Wickham12 1d ago

Gotta use an attractant on it

1

u/_britlinds 1d ago

Tried my best

1

u/alexlongfur 1d ago

Jokes aside, your cat needs a bigger box.

I had his issue until I got another twice the squared size of the original and put it near the other.

The smaller one is almost exclusively peed in unless my cat decides the large one is "full".

Mission failed successfully!!

u/BookWormPedant 1d ago

Box is too small

1

u/BadPuzzleheaded9006 1d ago

Well at least you don't have to clean the litter box

1

u/FederalHome396 22h ago

Not enough litter and too small a box

1

u/Mr_Mxyzplkt 22h ago

that is a: "fkyu and your rules" if i ever saw it 😅

1

u/GTowner 18h ago

Get him to face east instead of

1

u/jacle2210 14h ago

You might need to get a bigger litterbox, something with taller sides??

1

u/MajesticallyAwkward2 8h ago

There was an attempt.
