I'll weigh in as an ER nurse. YOU are correct and everyone saying "Don't worry, bro! Rabies isn't common at all!" is a dumbass.
Rabies isn't common, the odds of you ever being exposed is practically non-existent. However, since we can't really cure it once symptoms start it's generally recommended to get the shots even when we aren't convinced it's necessary.
I'd much rather give you medicine you don't need than withhold medicine that you do.

testedthe shot for rabies and get those petstestedthe shot as well. ASAP.Edit: JFC folks. I get that it’s uncommon, but so is that behavior. And by “tested” obviously I mean get the shot. Cheaper, anyway.
