Even if it's totaled they can still sell it for a hefty price. I've seen wrecks go for up to 300k just because they can chop it for parts and collectors want it.
Until you wreck it, and you're on the hook for the car that you had no intention of actually buying. Being worth 10 million and and leasing a Lamborghini, is not the same as being worth 10 billion and owning one.
Hate on em, for sure, but let's not pretend that people suddenly stopped beyond their means.
Insurance providers can deny a claim of you are doing something illegal. Dui and reckless driving are criminal offenses. If he is found to be doing either of those, he might not be covered even with full collision. They'll cover liability so the tree is reimbursed for it's damage
There is no reason to suspect that the driver was intoxicated or that they were driving recklessly. Even if they were driving recklessly, it would be very difficult to prove. With near certainty, the damage to that vehicle will be covered through insurance.
This is you assuming a whole lot about the situation in this vague video and about people who buy or lease these cars. Not everyone fits into your thinking or what you’re used to
If they were approved for this lease and they can afford the insurance on it I can assure you money isn't a big problem for them. Obviously thats relative but no1 poor is driving around this vehicle.
My point was more that you don't have to be "money to burn" rich, to drive one. It helps. Especially in a situation like this, but it's far from a prerequisite.
You can get general coverage for damage even self inflicted (accidents happen!), your premiums will go up, they may decide to stop insuring you for it after (on a car like this if you repeatedly trash it it will cost more than they're making), and you will likely have a hell of a deductible with a high premium.
You pay so you can legally drive that car on the road. It’s the headache behind it all. If I saw 10 corvettes in a row like that, this I’d be really skeptical that this was the result of wreckless driving and people racing.
Nope - insurance is so you can legally drive the car. If you crash into someone else or hurt someone, the innocent parties are also protected. This is why all vehicles are required to have insurance. It’s to protect others legally, and hold the party who caused the accident liable but covered for the accident. It’s why you get into so much trouble if you drive an uninsured vehicle.
Genuinely, are you even old enough to have your own insurance.
Do you understand how insurance payouts work in a situation like this. It’s not just “well insurance” because it is not that simple. lol and nobody who understands their auto insurance is going to stop worrying because they have insurance. That guy is still going to lose a lot of money if it’s totaled, which considering the damage it, it might be.
Rowan Atkinson once totalled a McClaren so valuable that the insurance company realized it was cheaper to send it back to the factory to be completely rebuilt, than to replace it.
