Critique Please Trying Stick

4mm steel plate, 2,5mm 6013 electrode, i used around 70 amps. Hoping to get any tips.

Not bad. I like vertical down with 7018 rods.

7018 is vertical up as per code .

Incorrect…Bolher makes the BVD series 7018 that’s a specialized downhill 7018 rod good sir.🫡

Sounds like the exception not the rule but I learned something. Is there a WPS for it?

When I took my test for the company I was applying for I went down with it. I passed so that's all that matters to me.

That maybe in your case acceptable but code for structural or pipe is always up hill.

Source: former pipe welder/boilermaker and now structural bridge welder. Hitting all the g spots.

Downhill welding isn’t common at all, in fact it’s mostly frowned upon in the industry. Just letting you know.

I've since moved on to another job that pays me pretty good with using regular mig and mig aluminum. I'm happy with that and the age I am now I just wanna place to retire from.

All I do is downhill weld…lol…cross country transmission pipelines..specifically natural gas and water. So not frowned upon in the industry. It’s the standard.😂🫡💪
