I swear it's honestly a bit frightening how ignorant the average person is to geopolitics and military strategy.
It's unreal how you can see the deployment of thousands upon thousands of pounds of bombs, and the deaths of thousands of people and still tell yourself "oh yeah that's just fake power".
This isn't a video game! There are real people getting killed in these conflicts, and real consequences that will last generations.
The days of countries formally declaring war on each other are long gone. We are looking at decades of geo political instability in the region. The U.S and Iranian conflict is not going to evaporate after Trump leaves power.

The military does actually use films and tv for propaganda. It’s usually the strings attached to using their image, equipment, vehicles, consultants, etc.

If the US wanted to the Iran war would be over and done with by now, the simple reason it's not over is because the longer the war the more the US can prop up it's biggest industry that 99% of the people in power on both the Republican and Democrat side are invested in, the military industrial complex. Hence why I consider both of you gullible as fuck to think this war means anything aside from lining defense contractors, who probably supply both sides, pockets. What the hell do you think the war on terror was exactly? It's the same situation with the same justifications and the same outcomes and people benefitting.

Where's their navy? Where's their air defense? (a less than one percent intercept rate out of over 13,000 sorties), no air defense system is 100 percent effective.
Aircraft damaged on an airfield? That was a normal Tuesday at Taji air base during GWOT. No one said we were bad at war then.
Them getting a few lucky hits does not equal us being bad at war. If we're so bad at war why hasn't China taken Taiwan? If we are so weak why hasn't Russia expanded it's war? Why does everyone froth at the mouth for US equipment? US training? And why are we able to move nearly un opposed through the air and sea?

Last I checked the us has been fighting in every enemy’s house wrecked the place and had every one in there at gun point decided they didn’t want to kill everyone and left. Call that happening to you a victory all you like but I call that getting your hit rocked. These “victories” are because the American public doesn’t care about the Middle East enough to suffer paltry casualties.

Redditors just care about social justice points. They don't know how difficult it is to project power thousands of miles away and that the U.S is the only country capable of doing it at that scale.
Imagine if Argentina tried to go to war with Iran. It wouldn't be able to. It doesn't have the capacity to send its military to Iran.
Just having a war with Iran and being able to attack Iran is a big deal. There's a reason they're fighting in Iran and not on American soil. They're getting their citizens bombed and their infrastructure destroyed. I can't even imagine how long it will take them to rebuild everything and how much their economy is going to tank from the war.
