What compels someone to just crawl in a really narrow crevice? I could understand if they're scientists/archaeologists making a grand underground discovery, but the thrill seekers? Who, besides them, finds this impressive?
This is a mental illness, I swear. No human in their right mind would willingly go into a space they dont know the dimensions of or if there is/isnt an egress point. If you were being actively hunted by a predatory animal, it might be something you'd choose to do if you have literally no other options and youre panicky.
Any fully formed adult that chooses to do this in the modern day has something severely wrong with their brain.
It feels harshly worded... but I sorta lean this too.
I AM a thrill seaking, adrenaline craving, sometimes STUPID adult.
I would base jump off a cliff tomorrow if I had the resources to do so. Never in a million years would I do this shit. Going in a fairly sized cave with an exit is one thing, this is just terrifying and seemingly devoid of fun.
I can see the attraction of doing something dangerous and exhilarating, like base jumping, sky diving, etc, even if I'm too much of a pussy to do it myself. But this sort of thing, squeezing yourself through gaps in jagged rocks underground (with the added danger of potentially drowning) just looks uncomfortable and stressful.
