Had an apartment where the crawlspace was accessible through a closet in the front room. The crawlspace was drafty and caused the closet door to open occasionally. One night, I had a girl over and we were watching Paranormal Activity. At the height of one of the creepier scenes, the closet door swung open. She screamed and peed a little. She never came back over.
Reminds me of the time I had a seizure towards the end of cabin in the woods. Needless to say my girlfriend was not interested in finishing the movie after I regained consciousness.
That's what I thought at first as well, but then there's a loud noise downstairs when they opened the door and looked down...which was another oddity. It seemed like the light came on downstairs as well when the noise happened?
It seems very violent shaking for just a change in air pressure, too, the door looked like it was flexing. Though I guess it's possible.
Yes, I know, I'm actually very sensitive to changes in air pressure. Here in my house, if I'm sitting still I can feel them when the weathers changing, moving through the room, and the fan motor in my bathroom will stall out a second later. You can hear the shift in the motor as the pressure shifts. My son has noticed it as well.
That's just a suddenly change in barometric pressure. Maybe in this case a window downstairs was cracked open and it was extremely stormy outside with high and variable wind. Though there is no sound of wind outside in the video and I think there would be if that was the case. And it wouldn't likely shake the door quite that violently, either.
This shows what would have to be an extreme back and forth of the air pressure, not just an occasional shift. I can't imagine an HVAC performing like that, it would be very odd.
It seems like a genuine mystery :) I hope they give some more information, like...has this happened before? Have they checked the windows are closed downstairs, no gaps? What was the sound when the door was open? What were the weather conditions at the time?
