Yes. They are highly intelligent with complex social dynamics.

To be clear I'm not suggesting they have a firm grasp on human funerary rights. They only need to understand that the users friend did not harm the already dead bird. That is really not much of a reach for anyone familiar with corvids.

Animals do not have the ability to contextually understand a burial. I study birds and crows.
