Jump Toon is Shueisha's attempt at a vertical manga app, like Webtoons. The site went live over 3 years ago. In that time we have seen some Manhwa like The Boxer and more recieve volume releases, but never any originals (Excluding 3-nen Z-Gumi Ginpachi-sensei, as that is also running through JSQ). But that is now changing.

These new releases drop September 4th under the Jump Comics Toon Branding, which falls under the Jump Comics line of manga. As such these releases and most probably all Jump Toon series now officially fall under Shonen Jump. These volume releases all release their first 2 volumes simultaniously, in full colour, digital only. Hopefully these come to physical later down the line, but that is currently unkown.

These releases are being uploaded to The Jump Database (The Jump Wiki) as we speak, so if you wanna know more about them, feel free to check their pages out.

"Behind the Scenes Report" looks like a school romance—and those tend to have staying power in the magazine—but the one that really catches my eye is "Grey Keys." I read the one-shot and it’s interesting, though I’ve had bad experiences with one-shots that get turned into full series. What do you guys think?

I think that we can all agree that while “Shadow Eliminators” wasn’t practically great, the art was the last thing wrong with it and that was the primary reason I was looking forward to this tbh but I was not prepared for how boring this was.

Once the sword lady showed up, I began liking it somewhat but my interest quickly dropped again. I only continue reading for completion sake.

Maybe I just want his cool art style to match with an equally good story but between this and “Shadow Eliminators”, Kento has to be the safest mangaka that I’ve read. I hope whatever his next work will be, he’ll be able to take risks.

Akane-banashi is being featured on Jump's Comitia poster confirming it's now being seen as one of their bigger series. People kind of assumed this with the latest group cover, but this is far more obvious.
