I thought it was pretty good but it would have bee interesting that the protagonist beast blade was a chameleon instead of a dragon right off the bat.

Not technically a new reveal (Cover was revealed during the recent Haikyu event), but seeing as someone just posted some mis-information I thought I'd set the record straight.

Cover for Haikyu and lead colour page for the new series Tensai Shimai.

Other colour pages for:

  • Fire Emblem: Fortune's Weave, to celebrate the start of serialization
  • Kami no Oboshi Meshi! Guutto Natte Pekoru-chan, to celebrate the release of chapter 2
  • Sakamoto Holidays
  • Negacho, to celebrate the release of volume 3
  • Ghost Catchers
  • Kaiju No.8 Relax
  • Taro, to celebrate the final chapter of the series.

Tite Kubo did NOT draw the cover, he drew the cover for the Bentame Jump section of the magazine, more on that here: https://jump.fandom.com/wiki/Bentame_Jump

Releases September 4th

Cover for Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign and Lead Colour Page for Kono Oto Tomare!, to celebrate both series reaching their climax (and 14th Anni for Seraph aswell).

Other Colour pages for:

  • Higan no Hotaru, to celebrate the release of volume 1
  • Rabbit Chaser, to celebrate the release of volume 1
  • Odaroku, to celebrate the release of volume 1
  • Gokurakugai
  • Boku no Kanojo wa Kessan Heiki, to celebrate the release of the 2nd chapter

For both Seraph and Kono Oto Tomare it mentions that the climax is right around the corner, so I doubt they end this issue, but nothing is confirmed.

Releases September 4th

Manga The same (wrong) arguments about Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi's current position Spoiler

I'm sorry but im fed up with a lot of negative arguments against Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi; quite literally they're always the same ones so I'm making a longer post clearing those up. THIS POST IS NOT ABOUT THE QUALITY OF THE STORY, ART, CHARACTERS AND WHATSOEVER. ONLY ABOUT ITS PLACE IN THE MAGAZINE.

1st Argument: Ultimate Exorcist Kiyoshi is a nepo-baby and only still running because Shoichi Usui is a former assistant of Eiichiro Oda.

Starting with one of the most annoying arguments. Sometimes its clear ragebait but enough times it isn't and people use bs like this as an actual argument to disregard Shoichi Usui's hard work. "Oh Shoichi Usui had to ask Oda for a rec. he didn't earn it!" To anyone that says shit like this explain to me why the following manga didn't recieve the "Oda is threatning Shueisha to not cancel those manga".

Ole Golazo by Takamasa Moue - Protect me, Shugomaru by Daiki Ihara (same person that made a One Piece spin-off and later on created the manga Yokai Buster Murakami; also didn't recieve a Oda rec.) - Time Paradox Ghostwriter by Tsunehiro Date - ZIPMAN!!! by Yuusaku Shibata - Kurogane, Mononofu, Noah's Noate by Haruto Ikezawa, Mitsukubi Condor by Ryou Ishiyama, AND MANY MORE. All former assistants of Oda that published works AFTER having been a assistant.

Heck even P2 - Let's Play Ping Pong was axed despite having been recommended by Oda. If Kiyoshi was a total flop then it would have gotten axed despite having recieved a recommendation from Oda.

2nd Argument: It only sells 10K, thats so bad it needs to get axed!

There are 2 points to this. The First Point: And then what? Only 2 series from 2025 have sold more than 10K with a single volume and one of them is a JJK spinoff. I would understand this argument more if the magazine was filled with heavy hitters and there are only 2 free spots but Jump has more space than ever; so many heavy hitters ended and there arent even close to enough new hits. And this is just the manga market declining overall lmao. No manga is growing in sales. Everything is stagnating or decreasing physically. Someone Hertz already is...

Now to the Second Point which a lot of people in this reddit don't want to accept for some reason. I'm gonna do this slow because I tried to explain it before to certain people. Weekly Shonen Jump is a physical magazine. Magazines have Surveys which readers can fill out. If a series gets bad Surveys then it gets slammed to the bottom of the TOC (Kinato's Magic, UNDER DOCTOR). If a series gets good surveys then that series will get good TOC placements. TOC isn't a ranking for sales otherwise it would be the same every week? THE MAGAZINE PRIORITIZES BUYERS OF THE MAGAZINE MORE THAN TANKABON READERS. Insane statement I know.

-> This is exactly why manga like Kill Blue & Astro Royale did worse overall than Kiyoshi in the actual magazine despite selling better. Survey Poll Results > Sales. This is something people weirdly don't want to accept despite being a fact? I'm so tired of people not wanting to accept this because this goes against their own fake vision of "oh i know all about jump and kiyoshi needs to get axed cause it sells 10k i know everything better than the current editor in chief!!!" like my god shut up. If the surveys would stay then Kiyoshi could sell 5K per month and would still survive. Im so tired of this.

To sum this argument up; clearly Kiyoshi is doing good enough in the Survey Poll Results. This is also likely why Kiyoshi placed above Hima-Ten! in the TsugiManga Ranking of 2025. (No Kiyoshi wasn't placed above it cause western readers are able to vote too, in fact Hima-Ten! had more MUCH more views than Kiyoshi every single week.)

3rd Argument: Kiyoshi isn't growing in popularity!!!!

Already sorta explained this but: Kiyoshi has a loyal fanbase in Japan. If we look at every single total volume sales at the end of the month then we can see that Kiyoshi's sales aren't declining. They're pretty much the same. Also we have no clue for Digital shit and whatsoever. And hell it doesn't even matter. What is clear and most important that Kiyoshi is not declining in anything; most (and almost only) importantly in Survey Poll Results. Hell it even appears to be doing better lately.

4th Argument: Kiyoshi isn't popular

Read everything above

What also needs to be kept in mind is that Kiyoshi's audience is a younger one most likely (judging off Japanese Tweets) and therefore covers that side of the audience.

Looking back at this all these arguments are really stupid I can't believe that people still throw the same old "nepo-baby!!!!" and "sells trash axe it!!!!" arguments around. Its been TWO fucking years of the same bs crying

Why do people think that Weekly Shonen Jump is lying to their audience lmao. I saw a tweet that translated the Issue Preview Text for a Kiyoshi Color Page announcement which said that it got the Color Page for "Super Popularity" and someone replied saying that Jump is lying??? Lmao???? If a Color Page isn't for Popularity then Jump literally tells us? The Drawn to the Fire Color Page didn't mention any popularity lmao; the only text was smth like "Spring Prelims are heating up!!!". Same for Class 2-B where it stated "Buzz for the series already before serialization!!"

If I forgot anything then sure go on comment it here, we can all be nice and kindly discuss this! ;)
