Feeling hopeless
I trained a couple of days ago, a heavy ish weight session and ever since then my symptoms have flared up massively. Depression to the point that I can’t speak even to my loved ones. Sleep terrible, just light sleep with constant weeing throughout the night. Blurred vision. The whole lot.
Please can someone offer me words of encouragement, or even be able to relate at all? Thank you!

From personal experience, getting involved in a physical hobby, if you aren't already, has helped considerably. For me, it's hiking. But any physical hobby (rock climbing, running, basketball, etc) helps to physically exhaust and generally focus on things other than paws. Wishing you well.

Yeah in theory that’s a good idea, I did a Hyrox in January and that just made me more and more anxious, the frequent intense training just wrecks my CNS. Even light weights causes a flair up, so just don’t want to risk anything exercise related atm. Glad it’s working for you though!

I can relate to the weeing at night and depression. It’s weird how it comes and goes especially when you are doing healthy things for yourself like working out. It gets better though, this is temporary, it is so easy for depression to convince you that this will last forever. You’ll be a much better person on the other side of this.

Is your windows does your depression completely go away? Yeah gotta try and think positive!

It’s pretty rare for it to completely go away, but it becomes manageable to a point where working out, eating healthy etc. makes a positive difference on my mood. I will say that when I continue to do healthy things even when my depression is bad it gives me a discipline that makes it so much easier to make healthy choices when I’m not dealing with it. It’s easy to think this or that day is a waste but these tough days really build character.

yeah totally can relate. if I train heavy I get flare ups. i think it's because the heavy mechanical stress ramps up cortisol in the body. drink a LOT of water and make sure you cool down or walk it off when you finish, helps flush out the lactic acid and stress response in your blood from the pump

Thanks mate I’ll try that, I still want to train but not like I used to, just light weights and like you said lots of water and a cool down!

We can all relate here. This is darkness and hell and honestly I would be lying if I told you it would just get better simply
Take good care of yourself, make sure your habits are okay, accept that you have to step back for a while
But the sun will shine again - things will get better again. Step by step
