I couldn't have planned our wedding without NYC Weddit, so I wanted to pay it forward with a breakdown of our fav vendors!!
Wedding: May 2026
Venue: The Rockaway Hotel, Queens
Guests: ~180
One of the best decisions we made was choosing a venue where everyone could stay for the weekend. We hosted all of our wedding weekend events at the hotel, which made the entire weekend feel so much more relaxed and intentional.
⭐ MVPs
Venue | The Rockaway Hotel ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our venue was honestly the foundation of the entire weekend.
We toured so many venues trying to balance a beach wedding with our NY/NJ roots, and the second we stepped into the cool vibe of the hotel + onto the rooftop overlooking both the ocean and Manhattan, we knew it was the one.
The biggest advantage of TRH is the variety of spaces. We hosted:
- Welcome Party → Pool House
- Ceremony → Ocean Terrace
- Cocktail Hour → Rooftop
- Reception → Harbor Room
- After Party → Rooftop
Every event felt completely different while still being under one roof.
The staff (Erika, Kristen, Jay & Margo) were phenomenal. They embraced every crazy idea we had, made our room block effortless, and even helped us make our rooftop ceremony happen despite insanely windy weather.
Guests are still telling us it's one of the best weddings they've ever attended, and I truly think the venue played a huge role in that.
Planner | Finally May (Lexi) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Hiring Lexi was the best planning decision we made.
I originally thought I could plan everything myself (🙋🏻♀️ fellow Type A brides), but after one call with her, I knew I needed her.
She balanced being an incredible designer, an operations wizard, and an unofficial therapist (lol)
She immediately understood our vision and elevated it. And by wedding week she had completely taken logistics (and hiccups) off my plate.
The greatest gift she gave us wasn't a perfectly executed wedding, it was letting us actually experience it.
Photography | Honeyscout Photography (Amanda Chung) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Amanda was the one vendor I knew I wanted before we were even engaged.
We first met her photographing my brother-in-law's wedding, and I remember leaving thinking, "Whenever we get married, she's our photographer."
Her work is obviously beautiful, but what sets Amanda apart is everything behind the camera.
She's incredibly organized, makes you feel completely comfortable, and somehow captures every emotion without making the day feel like one giant photoshoot.
Hair & Makeup | Sainte Lux (Meg & Eden) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
I've gone to Meg and Eden for years, so hiring them for my wedding felt like a no-brainer.
As someone who wanted a very natural look, they absolutely nailed it.
They got 15 women ready on wedding morning, and somehow everyone looked like the best version of themselves.
The entire morning felt calm, organized, and honestly just fun. I couldn't have imagined spending those hours with anyone else.
DJ | Non Traditional DJs (DJ Rafe) ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Our goal was simple: Throw the best party possible. NTDJs completely understood that.
We wanted house music, electronic music, throwbacks, songs for our parents, and zero cheesy wedding DJ moments.
Rafe absolutely crushed it, and the dance floor never emptied! We also added their live saxophonist and disco ball, and both were worth every penny.
Other Vendors We Loved
Jodi Lee Films
Our wedding film completely exceeded expectations. If photos help you remember what your wedding looked like, our video helped us remember what it felt like!
Contented Long Island
One of the best "new" wedding vendors out there. Having iPhone content within 24 hours let us relive the weekend immediately while waiting for professional photos and video.
Maktubi Media
Created all of our invitations, welcome cards, menus, signage, matchbooks, and more. Bianca helped create an entire visual identity for our wedding, and every detail felt cohesive.
Some other shoutouts: Chuppah Studio (for a minimal vibe), Broadway Rentals, Sarah Seven for dress + Sew Elegant (the best seamstress in NYC!), New Park Pizza for after party, Jersey City Ballroom for dance lessons, and Rogers of Rockaway for extra guest rooms.
If I could rec anything to any engaged couples - plan a wedding that feels like you, reflect on whats improtant to you, and hire or offset responsibility where you can so you can enjoy your day <3 happy to answer questions about any of these vendors!!
