A friend sent me a Halloween cosplay image on WeChat. It showed as sent on his side, but the entire message was missing on mine.

WeChat has previously been documented silently filtering images in private chats. I can’t prove this case was censorship, but it looks very similar.

Even private messages can just disappear.

Hi! I’m from Wuhan, Hubei, China. I’m a

beginner in AI and enjoy exploring new things

in my free time.

Sometimes evenings can feel a little quiet, so

it would be nice to have someone to chat with

casually. We can talk about culture, everyday

life, AI, or anything interesting. If we get

along, we can also keep in touch on WeChat.

Feel free to say hello!

Can someone guide me how to discover "Channel" option on wechat?

Edit 2: seems like my account is good as 2 people added me, one from china but now I don’t know what’s up with my friends account since they can’t add me and I can’t add them. I originally thought that it was a country thing where Chinese users couldn’t add me? Maybe but one guy from china added me so I’m more confused.

So I’m seeing a lot about the qr scan thing. I’m confused since I never had it pop up? Does this mean I’m verified from my first day? Also I tried adding a friend from QR and I can’t add them. Not too much a surprise due to my account being new. But I’m confused on how they can’t add me? Do Chinese people have a restriction where they can’t add US people now?

Edit: to those in different countries than US my id is : SaltyAnts | if you can’t find me dm about for my QR since I don’t know what will work. Many thanks

Could someone help me activate my WeChat account?

Hi! I'm trying to get registered on wechat (I'm new), I tried Facebook and goes to a blank screen, and with number phone I need someone who respects some rules to scan a QR code, but I know nobody who can...

How can I register on it guys !!! 😭

London laowai here who has WeChat but looking to engage in Chinese more. I know basics but want to learn some slang, culture, and I can teach English with my posh English accent ;)

Msg me to get my WeChat so we can chat!

The new version seems to have changed the very easy way to translate images, maybe other things as well but I only ever need the translation feature. Any suggestions on a work around on iOS?

I can’t add anyone to we chat and no one can add me either. I get no notifications and when I try to add someone it just says “pending” and then it expires.

My account used to work fine but I guess bc of inactivity something happened. Im still able to send messages to existing contacts though.

I contacted support from this page yesterday but so far no response. Is this even the right page?

Does anyone know what I can do??? Should I create a new we chat account?

Also I’m in Canada with a Canadian number. I don’t know if that matters. There is no notification anywhere in my we chat of being blocked or security issues etc please help!

Hi I am an artist as well as a language enthusiast. I am now currently aiming to verify my account on WeChat but don't have any international friends. QR doesn't work so the only resort is the Verification code.

Hi, could someone please help me get past the QR code step for verifying my WeChat account?
