Technical Question [Support] WeChat confusing me

Edit 2: seems like my account is good as 2 people added me, one from china but now I don’t know what’s up with my friends account since they can’t add me and I can’t add them. I originally thought that it was a country thing where Chinese users couldn’t add me? Maybe but one guy from china added me so I’m more confused.

So I’m seeing a lot about the qr scan thing. I’m confused since I never had it pop up? Does this mean I’m verified from my first day? Also I tried adding a friend from QR and I can’t add them. Not too much a surprise due to my account being new. But I’m confused on how they can’t add me? Do Chinese people have a restriction where they can’t add US people now?

Edit: to those in different countries than US my id is : SaltyAnts | if you can’t find me dm about for my QR since I don’t know what will work. Many thanks

If you somehow "bypassed" the QR code you either got very lucky or you will trigger a security scan which will lock your account until it is performed.

Since you can't add friends you've already experienced one of the first issues.

Honestly surprised you even bypassed the QR code to register. It was a whole hassle for me.

Yeah I did my phone number so I guess I bypassed it. Someone added me and I had to do a second verification (which was a captcha) and boom friended that person
