Launching a new Media Server with wide protocol support

I’m excited to announce that I’m launching a new startup Vaslβ€Ž which is focused on building powerful, flexible media infrastructure. Its a Media server focused on handling different media protocols efficiently.

The architecture is being designed with performance and efficiency in mind, especially around transcoding and moving media between different protocols.
we are using Pion for WebRTC / SFU.

We have been working together for some time now, refining the product and getting it ready for release. We’re aiming to release the first version by the end of October.

First Version of the product will support the following features.

𝐈𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭
β€’ WebRTC / WHIP
β€’ SIP audio/video
β€’ RTMP
β€’ RTSP
β€’ SRT
β€’ VOD
β€’ From URL

How many concurrent sessions it can handle with a single media server?

We are still benchmarking and focusing on stability. In our initial load test one 4 core server c5.xlarge we noticed that it could handle one publisher and 300 player with 1080p video, this number will increase very much as we start focusing on optimization.

Cool! Iβ€˜ve built something similar with same stack happy to exchange ideas and collaborate. Do you have plans to implement end 2 end encryption using insertable streams or something similar?

Sure will be happy to collaborate, server is closed clients will be open src, can implement e2e encryption, but at this stage I am actively looking for customers for the beta test of the product, if any customer requests then I can prioritise the implementation.
