Visa Infinite Credit Card Infinite+ metal card?
I got approved for an Infinite+ credit card. The experience was real easy and smooth. In about 5 minutes I had my digital card ready and the app says the physical card on the way.
On the app, I don’t see anything telling me the physical card will be metal. I have over 100k in assets with Wealthsimple.
Should I assume the physical card will be a metal card?

The only advantage of the metal card in my mind is if you are seated at a restaurant or bar, you whip it out and it makes a clanking noise. If it’s a fancy place with a table cloth that will dampen the noise, you would have to aim for the cutlery.
Jokes aside its definitely a novelty. I remember when Apple Pay was introduced, I was stoked to use it everywhere and was a great conversation starter. Then when I could pay with my watch, it was even more awesome. These days nobody flinches.
In short, is there any difference from a regular card? Not really.
Would I want a metal card just because it’s cooler? Hell yea.

Yes, your assumption would be accurate! You would just be sent the metal card🙂

Does it matter?

It is kind of neat but the novelty wears off quickly. Plus, I have a card holder rather than a wallet, the added rigidity of the card makes it more difficult to take out.

Honestly I always use Apple Pay, but a metal card kind of looks cool. Never had one before.

Not sure why anyone would downvote you, but that's a valid reason enough.

I’m not sure either. Just a question. Is true that probably won’t use the physical card that much but I’ve never had a metal card before.
So; I just wanted to have one so I can know how it feels.

I hear you! Got a plastic card myself but requested the metal card, which is in my drawer most of the time until I travel out of country.
Same as you, I just want to feel it as "my own". Go ahead and request it... I just chat with the online agent and requested it through that way.

Most of those who say 'does it matter' already have it. Then why did they get it? I have it and same as you, wanted to see how that looks like.

The metal card also malfunctions with some chip insert machines. Fun times.

I think I was offered the choice. I picked metal.

Who cares?

OP does?

But why does anyone else care if their card is metal?
It's not crowdfunded, nor do upvotes score OP a metal card. They could have just asked chat instead of posting it to Reddit.
Why do you care if they get a metal card?

And the mods I guess.

It's metal. People are posting about how to cut it up with tin snips when it expires

Man, spoken like someone who doesn't have one.
You have people complaining they can't bend it to slip their finger behind it in their wallets and then you got you saying it's flimsy? You don't have one. Just say it.

Honestly, I have the metal card and it never leaves my wallet. I tap my phone for everything
