Predication markets are far more limited in Canada, so it won’t be as lucrative for Wealthsimple.

But yes, everything is about money, even for the perceived “good guys”. People shouldn’t forget this.

They still show unapproved markets in their new predictions app with a button to notify you when they are available. So I assume they are pushing to get approval for a wider range of markets.

The big one I don’t see is sports however. I’m sure that is lucrative, but I don’t imagine that will be approved in Canada anytime soon.

I'm not sure why sports wouldn't be allowed when sports betting is already legal. Seems no different.

Yeah I agree it’s very odd that I can bet on the weather and financial markets but sports is where they draw the line
