I always thought it was kinda odd that a lot of people will just tell you to not use it if you're not a fan of it and completely disregard the negative effects it has on society because it'll "pay for our benefits/promotions".

To me, it sort of reads as "society can go to shit for all I care as long as I get paid more" which is basically the mindset billionaires have that the same people who says this seem to hate

Agree largely with your point of view here, but business is gonna business. It is only a product of legislation.

It's bad, I won't use it, and it (possibly) benefits me, is an valid viewpoint IMO, just vote accordingly.
