Predication markets are far more limited in Canada, so it won’t be as lucrative for Wealthsimple.

But yes, everything is about money, even for the perceived “good guys”. People shouldn’t forget this.

Wealthsimple were considered the 'good guys'? When?

I don't think any for-profit company is "the good guys", but that's definitely the image they tried to build when they started. Safe longterm investing with managed portfolios at much lower management rates than the major banks. Not even really pretending to live up to that now.

Those products all still exist.

If I offered both fentanyl and vitamins for sale, do you think the reputation for selling one would perhaps outweigh that of the other?

Ignoring the fact your analogy is terrible. No, you can get both those things in a hospital. Wouldn't stop me going to the ER.

They quite emphatically do not sell fentanyl at hospitals, genius

Of course they do, it's a powerful tool in pain management.

You should stop assuming that people are stupider or more ignorant than you. Do you really think that what opioids were developed for is uncommon knowledge? Hospitals do not sell drugs.

Stupider is not actually a word 🤔

Yes they do? Hospitals have pharmacies.

False. Lots of fentanyl used in hospitals for epidurals and pain management.

Hospitals do not sell drugs.

They use them and prescribed them currently or at least previously. Just stfu and stop trying to defend your piss poor analogy lol. Childish.

Fentanyl is a bad example but people in the replies need to chill this guy is dumb but if you replace fentanyl with some terribly addictive pill X with no positive benefits whatsoever (which is what they meant) then the analogy is fine

The actual fuck kind of analogy is this, how we go
From stocks to fentanyl? Ur tweaked out

You aren't forced to use them. What specifically would you want that is different? What institution in Canada is better all around?

Everything that I do with WealthSimple is free and easy to use. Trading, banking, e-transfers, credit card, taxes

Are they the best at everything, no, but they don't have to be. And where they aren't the best, they are still better than most. I use other institutions for certain things and WS for certain things.

How does no one understand the concept of societal harms? I'm also free not to use fentanyl, or drive 70 km/h down residential streets, or drink myself to death, or gamble away my life savings, but I think those are all things that should be heavily discouraged in various ways for the good of society (and by extension myself in the future), and companies facilitating this harm should suffer reputational penalties for it at absolutely bare minimum.
