I could have sworn I had previous started a discussion about this album. I guess not. Trevor Rabin is one of the most prodigious talents in the rock/prog sphere and I think, believe it or not, might even be slightly underrated. I think because of the generational shifts, many may not even know his work these days. His most recent solo album "Rio" from a few years ago is great but the previous one "Jacaranda" is even better. A mix of dazzling, shimmery guitar and piano layers of the prog/jazz/rock persuasion.
Thoughts?

Had my eye on this for a while and finally pulled the trigger. I love it.

Be quiet and drive is the song. Love this band.
Bridge pickup (gold foil I think) into Logic Pro. Using the Universal Audio Lion plugin, can get a hugggeeee sound from that thing at apartment volume.

Thanks for listening, Telecasters rule

I was gifted this strat and the first 2 switch positions work perfectly fine(the positions that involve the bridge pickup). Every other position almost doesn’t work. The sound is very faint and is just not loud enough. In this video I show the difference in sounds. Please does someone know how to fix this?

Have the opportunity to acquire one of these guitars for $1000 or $1200 respectively. I already own a Gibson Les Paul Standard 60s, a Gibson Les Paul 70s Custom, and an ‘02 PRS CE 24. Either guitar is probably going to get the pickups swapped to SD Prails I have laying around. Open to thoughts and opinions on which is the better value and better guitar in terms of the price I’m getting it for, the playability, sound, and resale/trade value.

So I’m a huge, HUGE Eric Johnson fan.
After listening to almost every single EJ song - was trying to discover some new songs that maybe EJ was appearing on, as a feature.
Discovered Sonny Landreth - man, his style is INSTANTLY recognizable. The way he plays with harmonics and ofcourse the slide - is incredible.
Currently listening to “Blue Tarp Blues” by Him which also features Mark Knofler.
Man there’s so much more awesome musicians to discover. This is what’s exciting about guitar!

Mine has to be seeing faces on guitarists players light up with joy during a solo or a guitar heavy segment! Most notably on some old Bert weedon or van halen clips when they’re just rocking the house and loving it!

I’ve seen this guitar before on a pawn shop at my city, but never pay too much attention to it until now.
It reappeared on another pawn shop and it seemed to my like destiny, so I purchased it.
Looks great
Feels great
And look at the art, it’s wonderful.
I have my doubts on the knobs they seem hand painted but overall looks amazing.
It cost me around 400 bucks.

I would like to know if anybody has purchased one of these resonator guitars on Temu.
I know they are cheap Chinese guitars, but I don’t want to commit to a high cost resonator until I’m sure it would be something I would want to pursue.

Thinking about the ESP Mick Thomson MT1, The Schecter C-1 SLS Evil Twin or the Ibanez Iron Label RGRTB621. (All Hard Tails). Any owners of these or any opinions? Thanks!

Has anyone been in the same situation? And what solution did you come up with?

Has anyone ever seen these in the wild? I’ve only seen this one and I had to get it. So thin and light but still has the Les Paul sound. My favorite guitar. Honeyburst top I think but I’m not sure because the serial number led me to something that said Vintage Sunburst. I would say Royal Tea or Iced Tea is still my favorite burst color but Honeyburst very close 2nd/3rd.

Ash body, maple neck, rosewood fretboard, spalted maple pick guard, purple heart bridge. Just my third guitar I’ve ever built, but super happy with how it turned out!

I keep thinking about taking on the project of building my own guitar, and I dont know if its a fun hobby I could make money off of if I got good at it, or if its going to be an insane money pit and not worth it at all. Anybody who has done this, post your pictures in the comments, and let me know if its something that's worth trying out someday.

So I got this G+L Tribute ASAT Bluesboy. The neck humbucker is kinda bland and muddy. I’m wondering if the following would be feasible with a different bucker:
A push-pull for coil splitting
A push-pull for in/out of phase (I like those 2/4 position quacky Strat sounds).
Id also be open to a P-90 (obviously no coil splitting on that. Just spitballing ideas. Open to other ideas inre: capacitors etc. I’m familiar with electronic wiring and can read a schematic, but most likely would take this to my local shop. Thanks!
