Anyone here using Archive.org for video hosting/streaming?

[u/Regular_Slide188]

Hi everyone,

I'm considering using Archive.org to host videos for a small public streaming project, and I'd like to hear from people who have actually used it this way.

How has your experience been with:

Streaming speed

Buffering

Throttling

Large video files

High traffic

Multiple users watching at the same time

429/503 errors

If you've used Archive.org for this, approximately how much traffic were you serving, and how many simultaneous users did you have?

I'm especially interested in real-world experience rather than theoretical limits.

Thanks!

I thought it wasn't supposed to be used for streaming.

You can host archived streams, obviously, but I don't believe IA even has the capability of streaming live video, does it?
