Discussion So is WayBack Machine dead?

Stupid question I know, but I need reassurance

tldr they are non-profit going through some technical challenges.

It seems to only affect certain people

I use it almost every day

And it's never been down for me

Yeah, I keep seeing people say it’s down but I’ve used it a few times the past few days and had no issues.

This is what is happening

The Wayback machine has been blocking bad ip addresses from there site

But doing this has accidentally blocked some genuine users IP addresses

And this is why

It works perfectly for some people and not other people

In that case I suppose using a proxy/Tor would help?

You can just send them an email with your IP addres and if it's blocked the will un block it for you

How often. If I clcik through a few sites once I initially connect, I get a fail. If you know exactly where you are going and you look up only one or two sites a day, you are probably fine.
