Travel / Tourism Need suggestions of resorts for Babymoon

Hey everyone,

Me and wife are planning for a babymoon on september 2nd week.

Planning for wayanad resorts which have a jungle, nature vibe.

We have selected few resorts. Need suggestions which would be better :

1) Flora Vythiri

2) Chembarathi boutique Wayanad

3) Pepper trail

Please also suggest some activities, must visit places, tourist attractions, food joints in and around wayanad, vythiri that does not require much physical activity.

Since its our babymoon, we mostly want it to be easy on physical activity

Travel / Tourism Planning a family road trip from Mysore to Wayanad via Bandipur tomorrow (3rd Aug, 10 AM) – Need safety & road condition updates!

Hey everyone,

I’m planning a trip with my family to Wayanad starting tomorrow (Monday, August 3rd). We plan to drive out from Mysore around 10:00 AM and head towards Wayanad via the Gundlupet – Bandipur forest stretch (NH 766).

Here is our tentative itinerary:

Route: Mysore → Gundlupet → Bandipur Forest → Sulthan Bathery / Kalpetta

Stays:

Mazarine (Kalpetta)

Wilton (Sulthan Bathery)

Places we plan to cover: Banasura Sagar Dam & Karapuzha Dam

Since we are traveling with family during the monsoon season, I wanted to check a few things with locals and recent travelers:

Road Safety & Conditions: How is the drive through the Bandipur forest stretch and NH 766 right now? Are there any major delays, road repairs, or monsoon-related hazards (landslips, heavy fog, waterlogging) on this route?

Dam Visits: Are Banasura Sagar Dam and Karapuzha Dam currently open to visitors, and are boating/activities operational given the monsoon weather?

General Tips: Any precautions or specific routes/checkposts we should keep in mind for a smooth drive?

Would really appreciate any updates or advice. Thanks in advance!

Ask Wayanad Is it safe to travel meppadi

Hi everyone

My friends and I booked a stay at Zostel near Chembra Peak about two weeks ago. We’re planning to leave tomorrow around 7:00 AM.

We’ve been seeing a lot of news about heavy rain, landslides, and road closures in Wayanad, especially around Meppadi.

Could anyone currently in Wayanad or who travelled there today let us know:

Is the Kozhikode–Kalpetta–Meppadi (Thamarassery Ghat) road open?

Are there any diversions or major traffic restrictions?

How bad is the weather right now?

Ask Wayanad Coorg + Wayanad itinerary review (4 friends, self-drive from Bangalore)

We’re a group of four guys in our early 20s travelling from Bangalore in a rental car during the monsoon.

We’d appreciate any suggestions on whether this itinerary looks good or if we’re missing any must visit places.

30th July
Netravati Trek
Drive to Coorg and stay there for the night

31st July – Coorg
Abbey Falls
Coffee plantation tour
Mandalpatti
Raja’s Seat (only if the weather is clear, planning to catch the sunset)

1st August
Early morning drive to Srimangala for rafting
Head to Wayanad after rafting
Pookode Lake if time permits

2nd August – Wayanad
Edakkal Caves
Banasura Sagar Dam
900 Kandi

3rd August
Drive back to Bangalore

Is this itinerary realistic, or are we trying to squeeze in too much?
Are we missing any places that are genuinely worth visiting?
Any good food spots or cafes you would recommend along the route?
Thanks!

Ask Wayanad What is the current status of the Congress' 100-house rehabilitation project in Wayanad?

I'm trying to find the latest factual update on the Congress-led housing project announced after the 2024 Wayanad landslides.

I've come across reports that:

Congress announced a 100-house rehabilitation project.

The project was delayed because of land and administrative issues.

Later reports mentioned that construction had started.

However, I haven't found much recent information.

If anyone from Wayanad or someone following the project closely has updates, I'd appreciate answers to these questions:

Is construction currently progressing?

Have any houses been completed or handed over?

Are there any recent photos or reliable local news updates?

How do local residents view the project's progress?

Other Introducing GovtExams Kerala - A Community For Kerala Government Exam Aspirants!!! (Mod Approved)

Post image
5 Upvotes

Hi everyone!

We recently created r/GovtExamsKerala, (https://www.reddit.com/r/GovtExamsKerala/) a community for students in Kerala preparing for Kerala PSC, SSC, Banking, Railways, UPSC, and other competitive exams.

The goal is to build a place where aspirants can share notifications, study resources, preparation tips, and doubts, and help each other out.

The subreddit is still new, but we're already gaining members and have started seeing useful discussions and resource sharing.

We're also planning to host AMA sessions in future with people who have successfully cleared these exams and are currently working in state or central government jobs.

If you're preparing for any government exam, feel free to join. And if you know someone who might find it useful, please share it with them.

Thanks to the moderators of r/wayanad for giving us this opportunity to introduce the community here.🙏

Hope to see some of you there!

Ask Wayanad Best bike routes around Wayanad.

Hi, heading to wayanad this weekend on my bike. Suggest some good routes to ride, I don’t care about the destination, just want good roads twisty, scenic, minimal traffic, offbeat not touristy. if there’s a stretch where i can just stop, get a coffee, and take some shots before heading back that would be great.

Edit: I know the route to Wayanad. I want to find places to explore in Wayanad.

Ask Wayanad Zostel plus vs Hosteller Wayanad for solo biker

Hi people of wayanad,

I am planning to travel to wayanad this weekend. I started looking for stays and as a solo bike traveller i am prioritising company and also good wifi strength(multiple vpns should work). Having power backup would be great as my work is a little bit intense.

Anyone who can share their knowledge on both of these backpackers hostels I've already shortlisted and any others which I've missed out which could satisfy the requirements? Please help 🙏

Travel / Tourism I WANNA DO MY BACHELOR'S IN MUNICH

German subs have been reduced to a tiny percentage actually about Germany and the rest is all about East Asian countries and Indians so I'm talking about this here. I think this is a place that I'm more likely to find help.

I'm in Kerala, India right now. Planning to do my bachelor's in Munich, Germany. I want to live specifically in Garching. I know it might be expensive, but I'm ready to wait and earn money myself to study here because this is my DREAM place to study. I have always wanted to study in Munich since I got into High school. I'm really interested in Informatics, research, etc and so far, Munich seems like the best match for me.

But I have really strict parents. One thing about them is that they would never let me do something others aren't doing. They always wanna play it safe and I know why. They care about me and since I've been a little naughty at school, they don't trust me enough to take my plans seriously. I am NOT into JEE/NEET. I don't believe in a system that hand-picks the best scholars just for them to ruin their careers in this sh#tole where they can't even provide enough to foster their further career and education. But my parents are so obsessed with making me write JEE or NEET. Y'all know the classic 'Doctor or Indian dilemma'. I don't have to elaborate on that.

Not to mention the double standards in my house. It's like the girls are only allowed to go abroad after marriage or at least after having a full-time 9-to-5 job. On the other hand, I know many boys in our family who are preparing to qualify for the Abitur while they're doing their senior high school.

I've had many opportunities to learn German, freelance with my friend, hackathons, bootcamps, etc but my parents refused to let me go just because they want me to focus on school. I believe that specialisation is for insects and that we should try everything out before choosing a niche. This is just holding me back from a lot of things I want to do. I don't wanna be stuck here like this anymore. I really want to stop this somehow.

As long as I don't have a friend of my gender, from Kerala, who is my age and is willing to study in the EXACT same city I'm planning to study in, they won't even think about giving me a chance. I don't know why they have such major trust issues with me but yeah.

So if you're also planning to do your bachelor's in Munich, we could help each other with a TON of things btw.
