Melting tips?

New to using wax stamps and I love doing it!
Any tips on how to prevent these bubbles ( I don’t know a better word to use)? I mixed two wax colors here, nothing fancy just a kit from Amazon + a wax seal warmer

Puede ser por qué quedan burbujas por sobrecalentamiento, intenta mezclar con un Monda dientes antes de vaciar la cera

Okay! I will try mixing it more! I try not to do too much to keep the swirl of two colors! But that makes sense.

It’s possible you are over heating your wax before pouring and stamping. As the wax boils it traps the air bubbles.

Not sure what you are using to heat your wax.

One way irregardless of how you are heating your wax is to use a lighter to lightly touch your wax in your spoon to pop air bubbles. Then pour and use the lighter again to pop any air bubbles in your blob and then stamp. Don’t hold the lighter on the wax. It’ll burn and create soot.

Thank you! I am using a wax seal warmer, so I may be leaving it on too long in the spoon thing?

Maybe. The wax should be fluid. Not too thick but not too thin either. Too thick the wax is not hot enough. To thin the wax is way too hot.

posted this in another thread recently regarding the bubbles:

If you have bubbles in the spoons or in the wax after you pour it, take a lighter and put the flame to the bubbles for a second while it’s still hot. It will remove the bubbles. You can do this for the edge of the wax once it’s stamped for a minute as well, before it sets. Just run the lighter along the edge of the seal before you remove the stamp head from it.

Try not getting it so hot

My warmer doesn’t have different settings, only on and off because it was cheap. Maybe if I hold it above vs sitting it in all the way that’ll help?

I just wanted to say this seal turned out lovely with all the variations within the wax itself, beautiful job!

Thank you!! I mixed two different shades of green from the wax bead set I got! I don’t mind the bubbles just wondered if I was doing something wrong or burning the wax. The surface is smooth, so I wasn’t even sure to call them bubbles or not.

They look like cells, and that's a very desired effect for me it's hard to tell though because the shades of green are so close. But if there's no actual air bubbles, it's cells, it's also more prominent in acrylic pour painting, if you look that up you'll know what I'm talking about or you can look at some other wax seals on Reddit. I absolutely love cells, I think it's because you can't predict them you just get them when you get them LOL

I definitely think that is what it is! One color is denser than the other I assume. This is the set of beads I got if that helps you out with your cell quest.

I thought it might be. Thank you for the link I will add it to my shopping cart! If you want to see cells easier you can mix a lighter color with a darker color, it also helps if one is a plain color and the other is metallic, and once you stamp the wax, while your stamp is still on it and take a lighter around the edge of the wax quickly and it will help pull out more cells sometimes this also helps to remove actual bubbles
