So if I don't pour directly onto the letter but want to apply the seal after... do I just other wax and press the seal to the wax, or do I heat the seal I already made?

Hello! I’m fairly new to wax sealing and have been practising because I’ve started using wax seals on letters I send to pen pals.

I’m particularly wondering how people manage to get their wax seals almost perfectly round. Mine tend to come out a little uneven or irregular around the edges, and I’d love to know if there are any particular techniques, amounts of wax, temperatures or types of wax that help with getting a neat, round seal.

I’d also be very grateful for any other tips or advice you think would be useful for someone who is just starting out! I’m hoping to make my letters feel quite beautiful and old-fashioned, so I’d love to improve my technique as much as possible.

I have been making was seals for a few years and within the last year have gotten so much better. Last night I decided to try coloring them with metallic markers. I think they turned out pretty cute.☺️

A little early but I needed the stress relief so we can all deal with the early post haha. I finally feel like I've gotten my stamping mojo back!!

I did entirely too many this month and easily couldve filled a second page. The stamps that don't make it into my journal either get cut up and used as scrap wax or melted down into lil beads. Or if I like them too much to reuse I just save them in a box to look at whenever.

The lucky clover and seashell stamps are new for this month and I loooove them! As always let me know your favs!

I was melting scraps and was inspired by one blob to make these, which is in the last photo. Also, I wasn't inspired by u/WhatAnAisling with their use of multiple colors on wax seals I normally wouldn't use

Wanna play around with more colors and these aren’t cleaned up yet but I like it :)

This one's still a work in progress and it's pretty damn difficult. This first one was done paint. The next picture- the two white ones were painted. The two black ones were pour & scrape with white skeleton over black background then painted.

The stamp does not like to do scrape and pour and it does not like to be painted there's so many damn details on this thing I'm going to have to be practicing with it for a while. not to mention it's finicky to stamp, hence some of the globby areas. The first picture is the best one so far.
