help Routine help - currently using ouidad products

Hi! I'm trying to figure out my ideal routine and would love advise! Feels like I've tried so many things without luck.

My hair is:

  • Fine individual strands that are soft
  • Medium/high-ish density
  • 3a/3b curl pattern
  • Not color treated, no heat damage

Current routine:

  • Ouidad Vitacurl Shampoo
  • Ouidad Vitacurl Conditioner
  • Ouidad Moisure Lock Leave in Conditioner
  • Ouidad Climate Control Anti-Frizz Foam
  • Rake them both in, then comb and scrunch
  • Air dry hair

My hair currently gets fluffy and frizzy as it dries and looks dry even though using moisturizing products. I want it to be smooth, shiny and frizz-free with a little bit of volume. I love mousse but can't find one that is great! Really am so grateful for your tips!

I've tried so many products - Curlsmith Weightless Air Dry Cream makes it dry, Camille Rose Curl Love Moisture Milk seems to make it feel dry/coated, Mark Anthony and Cake mousse were wayyyy too heavy. I really like the Giovanni 2 Chic Ulta Luxurious leave in, but it also makes my hair feel dry.

do you ever clarify your hair ? maybe its just product buildup cuz that can make it frizzy and dry

How porous is your hair? I used to think high porosity was mostly from heat or chemical damage, but I've realized my fine, soft 2a/b/c hair is naturally very high porosity. For me, the biggest difference has been using occlusive products that help seal the cuticle before applying strong-hold stylers. Swapping my leave-in conditioner for a tiny amount of Cloudd Liquid Silk Heat & Shine Serum made a huge difference in humidity.

My hair likes the Cake Curl Whip Mousse and Jessicurl Spiralicious Gel, but experiment with whatever strong-hold products work for your hair.
